Help me find a safe lava lamp!

Anyone got a recommendation for a lava lamp safe for an 8 yo? She's been asking for one for ages now.

Every single one I look at seems to have reviews saying it's a fire hazard, it's breaks quickly, it's dangerous etc.

Is it a lost cause or is it possible to find a decent one for under £100??

We were very happy with the one we got from Dunelm, no problems with it at all. It eventually gave up the ghost because a fire door got lent on it during installation, and the base bent - no problems with the glass though!

Id get a proper one from Mathmos ,
I have had mine for many many years and use it most weekends with no problems . only use the correct bulbs as knock off / wrong ones may get to hot and cause problems . It will get hot so treat it with care , dont pick it up until its been turned off for log enough to cool down properly .

Mathmos Lava Lamps UK - Since 1963

Lava lamps by the inventors Mathmos. Buy the original lava lamp direct from the Mathmos factory. Lava lamps were invented by the founder of Mathmos Edward Craven Walker in 1963 and have been manufactured in Britain ever since.

Yes we have a proper one from Mathmos and it's great, they do replacement bits from all sections so should last forever

I have always found Mathmos customer services very good too .
Highly recommend them , I don't know about the kids lamps but after posting that link I am very tempted to get another one . Possibly a candle powered one .

That's cool I didn't spot those. The kids ones say they don't get hot/safe for kids. Good to know about the customer service. Looks like it could be worth the investment

Mathmos. We have standard size with replacement bottle, jumbo and mini tealight ones.

We have the Mathmos neo for both kids - what we have done though is use smart plugs so they turn on before bedtime as with the lower heat it takes a lot longer for the 'lava' to be going so this way it comes on to be enjoyed bedtime and going to sleep (and also then set to turn off after they should be asleep!)
