City break/week away recommendations help please.

DH and I have had an awful year. Several family deaths, caring roles and supporting the remaining family. Normally, I'm the one to research in depth and provide advice to others on MN, but looking for your help now we can take a break.
Either a European city break of 4 days, or a week further afield, between now and Christmas. Ideas for places to go/hotel recommendations. Just DH and myself. We like food, seeing locals sites and ideally somewhere easy to walk around/public transport. Christmas markets are a bonus, but not essential.
Been to Prague, Reykjavik, Crete and several cities in Spain and Italy, so ideally elsewhere.

Athens. Ticks most of your boxes but I don't know about a Christmas Market. However there is Little Kook Café which goes ALL out!

Recommend this hotel. Right next to the Acropolis and walkable for most areas.

Copenhagen. Not been at this time of year, but it’s lovely.

Copenhagen was lovely, nice food,lots to see, easy to get from airport.

Berlin, easy from airport, great museums and hot chocolate.

Tallin, smaller, often blue skies in winter, lovely food and cafes. It's small so not overwhelming. Very nice food.

Palma in Mallorca is a lovely city to drift around. Train to soller.

Maderia, gorgeous, excellent local taxis, warm and so much to see

Some great ideas, thank you. The hot springs in Budapest are sounding lovely and relaxing.
