Pcos or peri?

Hello
38. Known lean pcos. Periods have been 32 to 34 days since birth 7 years ago. Went missing after covid jab but came back with vengeance 7 months later. I started using yasmin pill back in May I had such bad migraines came off it in August and periods have been 34 days, 38 days and 42 and still waiting. Saw a endocrinologist and bloods show no signs of menopause but I'm aware these change daily.
At present got anxiety, joint pain and slow bowels. I'm wondering if this is peri or pcos. Anyone got any experience?

Could it be under active thyroid??? A blood test will determine this. Under active thyroid symptoms include feeling cold, joint pain and sluggish bowels x

My first signs of peri were crippling anxiety, dodgy stomach and tiredness. My periods didn't stop, and show no sign of doing... However are you sure it isn't something else, are you pregnant?

RustyandDusty · 02/11/2024 18:16

Not pregnant. I think it maybe a hangover of the pill I took for a few months. It's sent me off. I keep feeling like my period is starting and it's not. I know when I ovulate so it is happening!

As a PCOS sufferer, my testosterone levels went off a cliff at 40. Either way this is about balancing your hormones.

When you say off a cliff do you mean high or low ?
I get hot flashes pre period too.

Have you got any other symptoms of PCOS? Your cycles don’t seem that irregular? And they’ve been regular until this year? Mine range from 35-136 days. Symptoms include excess hair, difficulty losing weight, struggle to conceive due to lack of ovulation

RustyandDusty · 02/11/2024 22:38

Did struggle to conceive then once he was born they've been 30 to 34 days except for my.covid blip. Not too hairy. Bmi 25 used to be able to eat anything now struggling with weight.

Have you had a scan of your ovaries? If you have lots of follicles alongside your symptoms (blood tests?) it could be a diagnosis of pcos
