Not sure where else to put this.
Done a lot of reading recently so am curious, as always thought it was a healthy way to eat, and it's enjoyable!
As I am just past meno and my mum had osteoporosis, I am interested in doing the best I can to keep healthy.
My meals often contain combinations of - chicken, cheese, eggs, oily fish.
Also salad, veg, nuts and potatoes. Veg type things dominate my 'plate'.
Occasionally rice with mackerel, or a tortilla wrap with chicken and salad.
I don't tend to go for large, traditional meals such as cottage pies and curries, not sure why. I haven't eaten red meat in 30 yrs.
If I snack it's often seeded crackers with gruyere (I'm fancy like that ) avocado and nuts.
I drink a good bit of tea, not a lot of milk, and like cordial with sparkling water.
I drink wine about twice a week.
I have a bad gut reaction to legumes so avoid them.
Anything glaringly missing here? I may have forgot something. It look nice and healthy on one level but would love some tips.
Whilst I do eat iron rich plant foods I obviously don't get a ton of heme/legume iron and haven't for decades. I no longer menstruate so imagine that isn't as vital now, I don't know!
