I've got my younger cousin in family secret santa and I don't know what to get.

I haven't seen him in a few years so not even sure what he's into and it's not a particularly big budget.

We do a big family secret santa for our get together, it's much better than pesents for all. I'm really happy to spend this just need some ideas.

Funny presents work too. But I'd prefer it not to be a complete gag or for the joke to be at his expense!

I've a 12 year old, I'd get a £10 PlayStation or xbox card (whatever he uses), freeze dried sweets and a little Linx sent - if he is like my son hel be obsessed by Aftershave and Deodorant.

ChaosHol1 · 01/11/2024 16:19

Or you could message a parent and ask for ideas? They may have a xmas list, though my kids haven't even mentioned Xmas yet so maybe not.

Never even heard of the sweets thats a fun round up gift.

I should have said vouchers/cash are banned.

LED lights from Amazon were a big hit with mine this age

You can definitely get them for £10-15

GiftChoiceHelp · 01/11/2024 16:32

I'd thought about lights but was worried they might seem 'girly'. Are near teenage boys into them too now?

OP posts:
PotatoBreadForTheWin · 01/11/2024 16:33

Yes, especially the gamers. They like to put them around the console/computer and feel like YouTubers 😂

BrieHugger · 01/11/2024 16:37

Cadburys do those giant dairy milk bars on Amazon, currently £9. Search Cadbury 850g. Not kidding they’re HUGE.

Snorlaxo · 01/11/2024 16:37

LED light strips are different to fairy lights. They give the room more like a spaceship feel.

allmycats · 01/11/2024 16:38

Canvas type wallet from a young man’s clothing brand or sports brand

Normallynumb · 01/11/2024 16:38

I was just going to say LED strip lights!

GiftChoiceHelp · 01/11/2024 16:38

Aww it's odd how much younger kids seem now compared to when I was growing up 30ish years ago.

lights are a definite maybe then

If he hates it they are easy to sell on Facebook or wherever.

GiftChoiceHelp · 01/11/2024 16:40

loves lego but gets those from parents and saves himself. I don't know which ones he has. And is 10-15 even enough to get a set?

My DS was also LED light obsessed at that age. His room looked like the Starship Enterprise, it was pretty cool tbf.

Odearr · 01/11/2024 16:44

These type of lights op, that aged boys love them especially if they're into gaming

Yip my ds whole room is glowing in strip lighting but he could well already have some.

Does he do any sports?

Needmorelego · 01/11/2024 17:00

@GiftChoiceHelp there's loads of sets under £15 - I prefer the smaller ones.
Other ideas -
Nice copy of a classic novel.
Beginner Airfix kit.

lemonyellows · 01/11/2024 17:03

Do you know if he likes football? You can get a fake football kit from DHgate for £15. Great copies. Shirt, shorts and socks.

User122456 · 01/11/2024 17:05

Another vote for strip lights - my teen boys love them.

TruthThatsHardAsSteel · 01/11/2024 17:15

You can get some cool light up keyboards, I bought a 12 year old a rainbow light up one. Unsure of where they start price wise

Topbird29 · 01/11/2024 17:30

Rubix cube and couple of bags.of haribo?
I have DS12 and DS10 - and they are all so different I'm what they like! Mine aren't at all sporty, and it is hard to find things on that price bracket. A couple of stocking fillers I've got them is a trio of FCUK body sprays and a small 1 player games each - "smart games" from on Amazon. Hopefully they will like those.
Also got them a fake oodie each - got some from primark last year.

Needmorelego · 01/11/2024 17:37

@GiftChoiceHelp there's a set of a Rubix Cube (as suggested above) in The Works that has some of the other style puzzles too.
