Halloween Plans

Anyone up to much? We used to get a pumpkin but that was about it & I haven’t bought one this year. DD15 has been trick or treating most years. She’s still wanting to do it although can’t be with her GF so probably won’t bother. Where I work we sell loads of Halloween stuff but I much prefer decorating for Christmas.

Yes! I love Halloween!! My two boys will go trick or treating around our neighbourhood (my older one will supervise) and we’re throwing an open-house type party for the neighbours with mulled cider and beers. We even have a smoke machine 🤣

It's the first year DS5 has been into it! Yay!

Debating between a Light Party at the local church or Trick or Treating. We live on a shitty road for it (put a pumpkin out last year and got 0 knocks!) so if we go, will venture out to a local estate that goes all out (have a few bags of chocs to surreptitiously slip to welcoming houses to not take the absolute mic!). Whatever we do DS will be wearing a Spider-Man costume!

We're going to make pumpkin shaped gingerbread cookies this afternoon too 😋

Anyone else?

Yes! Love Halloween too. We are having our annual Halloween party, about 12 kids coming over to ours. Feeding them and then they will be heading out to TT.

Some grown ups will walk with them, and some of us stay behind with the wine to open the door to visiting TT'ers.

Dcs are too old to T&T now, so outside of the house is fully decorated (Wednesday Adams/school theme) and dd and her friends are dressing up in appropriate theme to answer the door: we usually give out about 300 sweets…

dcs friends coming over will have baked potatoes, apple bobbing and doughnuts on strings, then a (slightly) scary film night for them.

I have just finished decorating the garden and been out for extra sweets. We get 100s at our door. Our estate is like the scene from ET. All the house and gardens decorated and hundreds of kids.

DD12 going out guising. DD16 too old and too cool to go.

Oh yes! We're all dressing up and going round the houses, then to the village event which will have music, bonfire, dancing, and costume competitions. Then back home for a kids Halloween party!

We've decorated the whole house and gardens, made a huge buffet of spooky stuff, plus colcannon. We're setting places for those who've died. DH will play spooky violin and there'll be dancing and games and scary stories! He and I are going as Morticia and Gomez. 😁 Then when the kids collapse into bed around 11ish, we'll watch a scary film or find some scary stories and be big daft kids ourselves. 😂

First we'll carve our turnips!
