Bowel movement changes after going dairy free?

Hi everyone, sorry to talk about poo but just wondering if anyone’s experienced the same

i went dairy free almost 3 weeks ago for my newborn due to them having an allergic reaction. Thankfully, it seems to have done the trick for them but for me, since I’ve cut it out I’ve noticed my stools to be much softer and almost orangey colour. I’ve also been terribly gassy. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m wondering if it’s linked or just a coincidence? I didn’t have constipation before so I don’t think I’ve ever had a lactose intolerance myself

Is there one particular product you're using as a substitute for dairy? The softness and colour doesn't sound alarming to me, but the gassyness could be something your body is not used to.

I use half coconut and half almond milk instead of cows milk in my cereal/oats every morning. I don’t really have a sub for anything else like yogurt or chocolate - I’m just having to go cold turkey as I’ve had to cut out soy too and that’s the usual sub in those products 🫠🫠
