..and telling her that if she really doesn't like Neighbour Cat in her garden she should see him off properly, not just swear a bit and run away. He's just said I am a mammoth hypocrite, and what happened to walking away and going to tell a teacher....🤣

Maybe point out that cats don’t have teachers.

My mum has to tell her cat daily "defend your garden you wuss - they're just babies" about next doors kittens (currently teenagers if they were human).
Although boy kitten is currently beginning a war with the pigeons. The pigeons are winning. Kitten thinks he can fly. He can't 😂

My dog sometimes barks for no reason. We always ask ‘is someone stuck down the well?’.

My Alexa commented on me talking to the dog the other day. I was asking her (the dog, not Alexa) if she was a good girl. Alexa, apparently, didn't understand the question. Alexa, I'm not even asking you... I'm asking the dog.
