What a fuck up day and what can I eat

So first of all I go dentist. Get all my top teeth out . Feel shit and horrible after. stressed looking after the kids whilst dribbling and can't talk and all the other crap that comes with it.

Then my back door that leads to my garden gets jammed and it won't open . We are trying to prize it open with what ever we can find. Kick it etc. Then we snap the key on the lock . Then we damage the fame. Then we break the door handle. We managed to open it in the end but the lock is snapped... did I contact the lock smith up the road nope... did I call the council... nope

On a plus not at least the dogs can get out.

And I have orded ice cream and muller rice

At the moment I have no teeth at all . So what can I eat ? I
Definitely no soup. I have porridge and muller rice. I can't think of anything because I litterly just want to swallow it.

Omg you poor thing. Are you getting implants? I want to know what happens next. +1 for protein shakes- will keep you full. Best of luck

Yeah I already have bottom implants. For clip in denture. But I have fond them really hard to wear. Wr are hoping it will be better once everything is properly sorted.

Does protein keep you full ? Can it add it some how ?

Second getting a few Huel meal replacement shakes in. You can get them pre blended in Sainsbury's. I have bad food intolerances and when I can't tolerate solid food for a few days they are a lifesaver.

Thank you I will look on line/home delivery

Adding protein powder will definitely help you feel fuller. I hope you feel better soon, it must have knocked you about terribly Flowers

Vettrianofan · 29/10/2024 19:48

Eggs that are scrambled. Add in grated cheese.

Yes protein will keep you full. Get some protein powder from Amazon and blend it in to any shake you make, or buy ready made ones like huel but I don't like the taste of those. We like vanilla flavour whey powder in our house! Can make a shake with just half a banana and a bit of milk or water or mix it into a milky coffee or hot chocolate.

I still remember when I was little and my mum had her front teeth capped and how painful it was, god bless you having to do the whole lot.

Xiaoxiong · 29/10/2024 19:52

uk.huel.com

I think Sainsbury's only has the vanilla flavour but you can get a tasting bundle direct from Huel.

Wdththtm · 29/10/2024 19:52

Angel delight, mousse, jelly, tomato soup.

Can protein make you put on weight ? Im over weight as it is .

I don't really seem to get much pain after dentist to be honest. So I have been lucky with that.

I had similar over the summer. It was bloody awful and very traumatic. I live off the meal replacement drinks in Holland and barratt. They are 500 kcal and a total meal and fill me up for 4/5 hours. They do this is food / my food ones they're amazing. Lots of places have started to tell the huel one but these are a little powdery tasting but defo better than nothing.
Hope you feel better soon

Plippleton · 29/10/2024 20:07

Protein shouldn't make you gain weight, and if your feel full and can't eat carbs I think it's even less likely.

tolerable · 29/10/2024 20:08

@Onlywayisup24 .sorry being my usual selfish wee self....
So...dya think I do ALL at once(front ones plus mibee four others)
How long "healing" period?

Frenchyq25 · 29/10/2024 20:13

I ate a lot of spaghetti hoops when I had mine done. Mashed banana, jelly, mashed potato.

I have clip in dentures too...they are great once you get used to them.

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean ? Do you mean getting bottom and top teeth out st the same time?

Healing wise . Just for the teeth removal . For the gums to heal a couple of weeks .

When I had the implants put in. Ie screws into the jaw bone I took about 5 months to fully heal /for the bone to grow back. That's not normal though its something to do with my jaw bone. So it would be faster for others.

risotto?
(schemie version= packet veg rice+cream chicken soup)=prob need big glass water but is easy eat--fills ya

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 29/10/2024 20:26

Oh bless you, OP, that's a really rubbish day. I'm glad you have ice cream.

I agree with everyone else about straws and dry socket. I had dry socket once (not caused by a straw though) and it's the most painful thing ever, you literally can't think of anything else.

Will you be able to ring the council tomorrow to fix the door/frame, etc.?

Hope you feel better after something nice (and very soft) to eat. Brew

SensibleSigma · 29/10/2024 20:29

If your mouth is sore, keep the tinned custard in the fridge! Ice cream. Add collagen to your coffee to increase your protein.

I have had my bottom ones for a while now. But I have never been able to properly wear them. At first i could not get then of once clipped on. Then dentist trimmed the denture because it was to big in places. That felt much better. But suddenly they are really loose it does even feel like they clip on. But dentist it telling me they are. But before I struggled to get then out. Now they just flick out with my tounge or if I eat. It's not due to wear and tear or because I have used them and they have naturally got looser . He says it will be better once the top are properly sorted. But I don't trust it and why would the bottom suddenly go very loose when they were not before.

Sorry for long reply. It's just pissing me off and I hope this has not all been for nothing

I don't know about ringing could I might get into trouble for breaking it. I will think about it 🤣

I ate a chocolate mousse . But im still starving. I keep putting the spoon upside down as I put it in my mouth. I don't know why I'm doing that.

MiddleAgedDread · 29/10/2024 18:30

Make a milkshake with a banana and some protein powder and drink it through a straw

Don't drink through a straw as the suction can dislodge the bood clots which can lead to dry socket.

rainbowunicorn · 29/10/2024 20:38

Onlywayisup24 · 29/10/2024 18:40

Ahh that sounds awful. I am using a straw to drink . Which is ok. Lots of smooth yogurts are a good idea.

Don't use a straw. You could dislodge the clots. Did your dentist not give you an after care leaflet.

tolerable · 29/10/2024 20:41

@Onlywayisup24 -sorry-yes thats what i meant- ( Im oblivious to the implants-process.i spoze the screw part being embedded part makes sense....) .. You really are brave.! the implant thing and 5 months sounds hellish..i think my jaw set squint last break so i might (have to)avoid that routetho reset will be necessry...
how long(time)did the removal take? is it general/local anasethic?
heres my (stupid )thing-do you kinda "mourn"your teeth(or am i just freak)

gorgeleaper · 29/10/2024 20:54

Oh you poor love, what a day you've had.
I read your messages from early in the morning before you had the teeth out.
You've had probably a lot of good ideas given to you, when I had a wisdom tooth extracted the dentist suggested yogurt I think because at least it has some protein, some brands more than others, and that helps with the healing.
If you have yogurt and milk maybe a bit of vanilla and sugar or ice cream you could make a shake/drink in the blender?
It's a shame you had so many other problems to add to your day and I hope that you're able to sleep tonight and will feel better soon.
