What a fuck up day and what can I eat

So first of all I go dentist. Get all my top teeth out . Feel shit and horrible after. stressed looking after the kids whilst dribbling and can't talk and all the other crap that comes with it.

Then my back door that leads to my garden gets jammed and it won't open . We are trying to prize it open with what ever we can find. Kick it etc. Then we snap the key on the lock . Then we damage the fame. Then we break the door handle. We managed to open it in the end but the lock is snapped... did I contact the lock smith up the road nope... did I call the council... nope

On a plus not at least the dogs can get out.

And I have orded ice cream and muller rice

At the moment I have no teeth at all . So what can I eat ? I
Definitely no soup. I have porridge and muller rice. I can't think of anything because I litterly just want to swallow it.

Gin? Gin 😂

Seriously though, you poor thing, what a time you are having. How about a Bovril drink, or Horlicks? Maybe tiny pasta shapes cooked till very soft and in a smooth sauce or something like that.

I will do the pasta thing in a few days or so . Bovril is gross lol. I hate anything that's gravy or gravy based . A staving and I made a thread about food ffs 🤣. I ordered a small uber delivery with just ice cream, muller rice. I might feel different tomorrow

Angel delight made with full fat milk.

You could make some great milkshakes or smoothies if you get a stick blender. The sky is the limit! Add ice cream, banana, peanut butter, cocoa powder, frozen berries, tinned fruit, fruit juice (maybe not all at the same time...).

Cauliflower cheese. Cook the cauliflower well so it can be mashed really well with a fork and add loads of cheese sauce.

Would a cheap and cheerful blender be enough to do that ?

Yes. I live on smoothies.
if you’ve any apples or pears chop them up quite small and spread out the bits and freeze.
Blend milk/water mix or any nut milk with a banana and a spoonful of peanut butter. Add any frozen fruit if you want to make it colder.
Milk or water, banana and chocolate powder or instant coffee if you like either of those.
Just tell yourself this time next week you’ll feel better.

JustAnonymous · 29/10/2024 18:58

Don't use a straw!! I speak from bitter experience as I ended up with dry socket last year after an extraction, caused by using a straw. It was agony!

I lived on soup, smoothies, milkshakes, smooth yoghurt and mashed potato for about a week. Lost 5lb though!

Sorry I’m clearly oblivious here- why have you had all your top teeth removed?

Yes all if them. I had the bottom ones removed sometime ago . So they are all heald. But I have not been able to wear bottom teeth . So I'm toothless at the moment

Ahh that sounds awful. I am using a straw to drink . Which is ok. Lots of smooth yogurts are a good idea.

You shouldn’t be using a straw to drink if you’ve had teeth out, you risk getting dry socket which is absolute agony and guaranteed to make your shitty week even worse!!!

sprigatito · 29/10/2024 19:00

Full fat Greek yogurt with lemon curd or Nutella

I have not had angel deligjt since I was a child.

Blender / milk shakes definitely sounds like a good idea

I used a straw last time and no issues . I only done it for the first day though.

It might have been OK but is it really with the risk of you're aware? Google "straw after tooth removal"

Xxx

I had dry socket after a wisdom tooth extraction and it’s possibly the worst pain I’ve experienced - worse than childbirth for sure. I wouldn’t be risking it in any way and using a straw is the number 1 cause 😖

Onlywayisup24 · 29/10/2024 19:07

I just got a chocolate mousse dessert. But I don't know how to eat ffs. I turning the spoon upside down and putting the mousse on my tounge. I swear it's numbed my brain

I will stop .. its strange that the dentist does not warn about that. On the advice sheet it says about smoking but nothing about straws . I would have thought it was a common go to really. I will stop anyway

@AD1509 sorry I misread your post .all my teeth were in bad condition. They would crumble and beak easily. There's a name for it but I forget what it is . I also had an awful over bite. I have felt ugly for years and wanted to sort it

Hope you feel better soon, having teeth extracted is really horrible.

Mirren22 · 29/10/2024 19:21

How about some fruits smoothie, banana or strawberry with yoghurt and honey maybe some seeds blended in

HideousKinky · 29/10/2024 19:21

I would see these circumstances as an excuse to eat my favourite thing - ice cream

I've just had a tooth taken out this week. Living off huel milkshakes tbh. Figured they have all the nutrients I need and will keep me alive for a week. It's hard enough with just the one gone, I can't imagine how hard it is with no teeth. You have my sympathies

Moanycowbag · 29/10/2024 19:29

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 29/10/2024 18:44

Watch out with straws. Apparently the suction can suck out the little clots inside your sockets which need to stay in place if you're avoiding pain.

I would recommend smoothies from the shop. Yes to meal replacement shakes etc.

Yes I was advised no drinking through straws after tooth extractions as can lead to dry socket.

Plippleton · 29/10/2024 19:30

Omg you poor thing. Are you getting implants? I want to know what happens next. +1 for protein shakes- will keep you full. Best of luck

Xiaoxiong · 29/10/2024 19:33

Sounds like you need some Huel for a few days. Poor you. Hope you are back to chomping on things soon!

MariaDingbat · 29/10/2024 19:35

Second getting a few Huel meal replacement shakes in. You can get them pre blended in Sainsbury's. I have bad food intolerances and when I can't tolerate solid food for a few days they are a lifesaver.

Sodullincomparison · 29/10/2024 19:38

I have had four removed due to a bone disorder. Holding the spoon upside down also worked for me.

I survive on possets - very dense desserts and lucozade for the first few days and then tubs of sandwich fillers.

I was told no straws and nothing cold or hot.

good luck!!!
