A friend has just moved house to somewhere that has never had internet connected before and OpenReach are saying there's no room at the exchange to connect her. They say it's a completely unknown timescale for sorting it, could be weeks or months. They're sending her an ee 4G router in the meantime but have warned this won't be any good for streaming or gaming.
She has a teenage son, who is already finding the move very unsettling (they're fleeing domestic abuse, so it's a forced move and a downsize), and he's very upset about not having the internet, his gaming is his main way of decompressing, and his upset is distressing her at what's already a very difficult time.
I'm clutching at straws here, but does anyone know of any options for internet fast enough for gaming in the unknown timeframe between now and when OpenReach get things sorted?
