I love mugs, have started collecting them a few years ago and can never have enough. My favourite mug was a beautiful blue terracotta one I got from Greece years ago but it broke during a house move (still upsetting!). I am on a mission to find new ones to add to my collection.
Do you have different favourite ones for tea and coffee ?

Coffee on the left, tea on the right.

Love the teacup 😍

These are mine, my Moominmama and Hattifattener mugs. I like a small mug of strong copy and these are perfect. Ds uses them sometimes but he knows he's not supposed to and always makes sure that if he makes coffee then it comes in one of these!!

These. Actually my favourite is the same but in sky blue. DS, DD and I have one each in our favourite colour. They are "Herdy" mugs from The Lake District, my most favourite place in the world. They are bone china and lovely to drink from.

This one from matalan. Absolute bargain, holds a good amount of beverage, and a gorgeous shape to hold.

Sadly too many ££ for me at the moment.

RubiesAndRaindrops · 28/10/2024 15:48

It varies but currently this one (if you can call it a mug, its more cup shaped I suppose). The hearts are transparent so you can see your tea through it. Got it from The Range (I think) many years ago, I found it again fairly recently it had been stuffed at the back of the cupboard for safety!

It says Home is everything
And on the other side of the outside it says Everybody needs a place to call home .

@VictorianBigot thank you! And you’re not the only one going down a rabbit hole. I’ve discovered i really like Abi Overland’s stuff based on just that mug:

There is no better mug than a Herdy is there! So cheerful, just the right size and lovely and thin.

They're stunning aren't they. I love this one https://www.abioverland.com/homeware/peekingmug I'm very tempted by it, even if it does need to be hand washed.

I actually thought that had holes in it!! Lovely mug.

For a second, I thought the heart detailing were holes 😂

My friend bought me this Cath Kidston one and I love it. The shape means I'm less likely to spill my coffee than ones that flare out at the top.

The only downside is that I broke a microwave with it as I didn't realise there was a silver line around the cloud and it took 10 seconds to totally screw the whole thing up. Blush

Blue mug for coffee, friend bought back from New York as she knows I'm a huge crime drama fan and the white one from another friend for my birthday two weeks ago, perfect for tea as it's bone China.

Love them both.

Rowgtfc72 · 28/10/2024 16:48

Massive mug. Holds vast quantities of tea. Nice big chunky handle.

I've got a couple I keep for sentimental reasons (from holidays etc) but my actual favourite mugs are ones shaped like this. I have this one and a selection of others which have the same feel to them. I am very specific about my mug choices

This one. It is a bone china Dunoon Pottery mug wth Monet's Irises on, which I bought from a charity shop. I particularly like Dunoon Pottery and I don't live thick mugs, especially when I am drinking tea.

Mine is sadly no more as it recently became a victim of DH's washing-up skills, but it read:

I'm not arguing,
I'm just explaining
why I'm right
