I love mugs, have started collecting them a few years ago and can never have enough. My favourite mug was a beautiful blue terracotta one I got from Greece years ago but it broke during a house move (still upsetting!). I am on a mission to find new ones to add to my collection.
Do you have different favourite ones for tea and coffee ?

Isn't it weird, most of these mugs make me positively shudder - wrong height, wrong colour, wrong shape.... I love the fact that we all have our favourites. Mugs are such a sensory delight and so easy to get wrong.
Here's mine:

My favourite mug and woe betide anyone who fails to read and observe first thing in the morning Grin

The thread on site stuff about suspected AI threads has now made me wonder if this thread is real. It has the flavour of a 'let's provoke a list of recommendations for commercial benefit'.

This is my current favourite 😍 I think it was from The Range? Maybe Morrisons? I can't remember, but I love geese ❤️

I have a cupboard full of lovely and unused mugs for all seasons but I only like to drink out of my plain white ones from IKEA. I don’t get the same comfort out of drinking out of them 😂

I have a few different Rupert Blamire ones. I love mugs and have too many.

This mug is perfect for me, larger than normal, thin china and I love the design. A present from my Son's Mil.

Highland stoneware does the most beautiful mugs. Not cheap (£40ish for a mug) but I love mine

Favourite mug that my chap had engraved for me - got it from Manchester Christmas market last year with a matching coaster.

bit bigger than an average cup and I just love the shape and feel.

I can't post a picture of my favourite mug, as it has a picture of me on it, doing a very smug pose, with the caption "the smug mug"
But here's my 3rd favourite (2nd favourite has pictures of my children on, so again, can't post)

I have 3 mugs ( in duplicate in case of damage) and none of them are pretty but all are perfect for each drink. I've got a stoneware Union Jack mug for morning coffee. A fluted footed mug for afternoon tea and another mug for hot chocolate. Each one feels right, has the perfect rim and comfortable handle for me and has an acceptable cooling rate. If I'm travelling, the Union Jack mug comes with me and up to now it's been to 9 countries and 38 cities.

Here's mine:

I have the same favourite mug. Perfect size, shape and proportions.

This is my other favourite mug that I use for soup. It's exactly the same proportions as the Emma Bridgwater one.

Nah, there have been many 'favourite mug' threads over the years.

My favourite everyday mugs are like this but they're older and have coloured handles . They're a good size and nice shape to hold, but not too heavy.

I like this for evening drinks, very nice shape and I like the pattern though I wish they did them in cobalt

Yes but normally the OP replies and it is not as blatant as this one with requests for a picture which means a link in reality.

There are a bunch of these posts around and they do have the flavour of AI provocation for commercial purposes.

I like the look of all the mugs in this thread but the tea won't taste right in most of them.

My husband thinks I'm nuts because I spend too much money on mugs when he is happy with a £2 mug from the supermaket or ikea.

I've recently gotten something from each of these and I love them all!!

My favourite, another Emma Bridgewater fan and this one is of my home county. I love a good mug but I never drink hot drinks, only the the occasional Lemsip!

This one from Emma Bridgewater. It was a limited edition charity one. I broke the first one, found this on Ebay then went to the EB factory and managed to get another to keep as a spare for when I inevitably drop it at some point.

What does it say on the inside please?

Moier · 28/10/2024 12:30

Mine was specially made with photos of my Grandsons on.. so can't really show it.
I don't have matching mugs ( to match my crockery...which do match) but l prefer all different mugs.
