Or phrased another way how much is your annual holiday budget and where do you go and how do you do it?

by how do you do it I mean do you plan ages in advance and book as soon as they come out or do you snatch up last minute bargains.

we’re working out our budget for next year so I’m curious for people’s budget, how they plan, where they go etc always up for getting more tips on how to get the most bang for your buck.

also any fabulous family holidays that don’t burst the bank will be gladly received :)

I don't have a fixed budget. We swap between s/c holidays in Europe, AI/resort hotel holidays and long haul once in a while.

When DD was younger and we had childcare costs we normally did one proper holiday and a short UK trip. Nowadays we do a second holiday abroard or a longer UK trip.

I personally dont't like saving on holidays, I love a bit of pampering so any s/c accomodation needs to be the same or better than my home. For a hotel I want space, comfort, more than just a buffet and not in the middle of nowhere.

I add around £4K per year to a savings account and also spread the costs. So I book flights and choose hotels/accomodation I either pay in installments or just before arrivals and save towards it.

I am currently looking at options for next year Summer, we normally don't leave it until later than January. We may do short notice breaks for long weekends though.
