Gatwick meal deal?

Hi,
Sorry for the daft question. It's been a while since I flew anywhere, but we are off on our holidays soon!
We will be in the aeroplane over dinner time, and I am hoping to grab some sandwiches and drinks after security to take on the plane for the family. Can I get a meal deal from boots or WHSmiths at Gatwick? I don't want to spend loads of money, because I want save it for holiday!

Yes you can

Yes we do this all the time but they are more expensive £5 from Heathrow last week.

A bottle of water was £3 or &6 for three from WH Smith's

You can take sandwiches from home tho and just buy drinks.

Have great trip!

You can take cold food on board with you, I always do

You can take an empty water bottle through security and fill from a water fountain. Meal deals are good though and you get a drink with them. You can take the food and drink onto the plane

Fabulous! Thank you. I don't mind spending £5 each - I'll bring some extra snacks too.

I love a Boots meal deal on a flight. I also take an empty water bottle to fill up after security and probably a tube of Pringles then get something like a wrap, nice yogurt and innocent smoothie, so decent value for a fiver.

pestothepenguin · 26/10/2024 13:00

Pringles are good because they don't get squashed!!

Have fun

Yes you can take food on the plane. I either prepare some rolls and snacks to take with us or, if we're staying at the airport the night before the flight, I take some croissants or get a. Meal Deal and fill up water bottles airside before boarding.

@Thingsthatgo Be careful if you are thinking of taking nuts as snacks. The last couple of times I have flown there has been someone on the plane with a nut allergy. Passengers were asked not to eat nuts if they had brought them onboard, and they were not serving packets of nuts from the trolley. Just something to be aware of.

Boots include choices other than sandwiches too. I had a katsu rice bowl last time.

We have a family competition to max out the deal!
