I don’t eat much chocolate, but I do love a Bounty. The other day I put one in the freezer and thought’ wouldn’t it be great if Bounty made Ice cream’ . Well what the F. In Iceland freezers little bounty. I have probably eaten three since I got them a week ago. I did not really like them. They have a coating between the chocolate and the filling.
I am sure you are all ahead of me. It suddenly occurred to me that maybe they were not ice cream. Yep,thaw at room temperature before eating. They are bloody lovely. I was going to give them to the GCs tomorrow when they visit , hopefully they will be to full up after the Halloween cupcakes to want them.

Guess I might sneak DiL out into the kitchen to share though. She is someone who enjoys the finer side of things

Think they were launched in the very early 90's.
Remember many of our favourite sweets being available in ice-cream form and spending lots of £ at the corner shop that hot summer.😁

Was it these you bought?

Looks like they were launched in 1989.
Along with Mars & Snickers ice-cream bars they were a real change from the earlier, more traditional ice-creams.

Does anyone remember Carte D’or coconut ice cream? My Grandad used to keep it in the freezer so I could have as much as I wanted whenever I visited 😍 in the 90s and 00s.

They discontinued it and only Bounty ice creams come close!

Also Coconut Little Moons are addictive!

No these. But who reads those big letters when they are excited

What are they if they were being sold from the freezer but are not ice-cream?

I love me a Bounty but ice-cream wise I always end up plumping for Häagen Dazs.

Doggymummar · 25/10/2024 18:14

Some sort of pudding I guess

dementedpixie · 25/10/2024 18:17

Ah yes. Éclairs. You need to defrost them first as you already know. But I might have made the same mistake
