Having a bad day? Having a good day? Something on your mind? Want to rant? Want to share happy news?

Let’s just all check in on each other

Good day overall
Finished one art project and began a new one, did some shopping. Partner has done all the laundry and changed the bedding, plus cooked a lovely dinner for us all.

Only thing on my mind is I have to get up at 4am tomorrow for work

DidYouRememberToTurnTheKitchenLightOff · 25/10/2024 17:29

What about you OP? How are you?

ghostbusters · 25/10/2024 17:56

That's very kind of you OP. What do you want to get off your chest?

I'm doing ok. I'm not loving my work just now for various reasons but we had some good news this week which will fix one of my niggles.
I had my covid & flu vaccine yesterday. My arm is aching and I feel like I have the cold but I have felt worse in previous years.
I'm having a night away with my sister soon and I'm really looking forward to it.

Shergill15 · 25/10/2024 17:58

Hi OP, hope you're ok. Things are a bit rough overall just now, but today has been a good day - been out with DD and some friends which has definitely boosted my mood

familyissues12345 · 25/10/2024 17:59

Feeling pretty shattered, but haven't been 100% for a while. On a plus note, DS1 came home from Uni, first time since he left 4 weeks ago

MissyB1 · 25/10/2024 18:01

I'm a bit anxious at the moment, I'm on a zero hours contract at work but they haven't needed me much at all the last few weeks. I need more work, our finances are getting tight.

How are things going for you OP?

RomeoRivers · 25/10/2024 18:09

Hi,
I’m in limbo atm, awaiting the arrival of DC3, I’m due on Wednesday so the calendar is clear for the foreseeable.

Every night I go to bed wondering if I will be woken by contractions. Really looking forward to holding my baby, but utterly terrified of labour pain, needles and midwives. Desperate to fast forward through all the fear.

UserNameOfShame · 25/10/2024 18:12

I'm good. Just finished work for a week annual leave.
A bit anxious as I'm taking the DC away without DH for the first time. But I'm sure it'll be fine. Need to pack and all that still.
Also have that niggly feeling that there is something I've forgotten to do at work before I logged off...

TheHighPriestess1 · 25/10/2024 18:14

Crap, full of germs but hoping some wine night help. Saying that I’ve got plans for the next few days with my adult son which makes me happy.

babasaclover · 25/10/2024 18:21

Completely peopled out following a week of full time work and child rearing.

HOWEVER now on sofa as family all out with trash tv and just enjoying not having anyone talk to me.

How are you @UsernameNameUser

Scutterbug · 25/10/2024 18:28

Hi OP, how was your day?

Mine was ok. I have MH issues and had a hallucination last night. It left me feeling out of sorts so I tried to get hold of my MH team today with no luck. Feel a bit list knowing I now can’t speak to them til Monday.
Still waiting to hear if my PIP will be renewed too which is causing me a lot of stress.
But tonight I have wine! And DH is at home so going to have a chilled one x

ConiferBat · 25/10/2024 18:32

I had a good day at work thanks OP - there were quite a few people in the office who I knew, so it actually felt like work for once and not a shared workspace.

Takeaway has just arrived.
I'm a cherry rum down.

Life is calm.
How are you?

Satinscrunchie · 25/10/2024 18:35

I have walking / mild pneumonia and am feeling very breathless & sorry for myself. However it was caught very early on and didn’t even have a fever with it. So I am grateful I’m not too bad. I have had pneumonia before and was hospitalised last time so I’m feeling fortunate to be home this time. I’m on day 2 of antibiotics and day 8 of being unwell. (I thought it was a sinus infection but became suss when I was so out of breath!)

It’s now half term and I’m worried that the children will get frustrated that I can’t do a lot. DH has booked time off.

I’m missing walking in the woods, going out for coffee and walking around museums.

Thank you for letting me rant! I needed that 🤗

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 25/10/2024 18:54

I’m the best I’ve been in a long time… years to be honest…

We finally sorted our long term money issues in August, I started a new role in September which is much less stressful and I’ve got the right balance of my anti depressants and other supplements. I have SAD but it’s been such a beautiful October I’m hanging on for now.

I’ve been on annual leave today and went out for lunch with my sister, niece DS and our dog. The dog got a compliment for being so well behaved which I love as we used to get them all the time for DS but he’s too old for that now 😂. Then we had a nice walk in the sunshine.

Tonight, DH is out volunteering at our village hall so I am doing my pole dancing then doing Halloween gel nails (this sentence has totally outed me if anyone I know reads it!).

sagebomb · 25/10/2024 19:44

I've been taking my granddaughter to school and back this week as my adult dd isn't well. I've really enjoyed our chats on the way home and just spending a bit of one to one quality time. She's at her dad's most weekends/holidays so we've not had much time just us together . It's definitely something I'd like to change so I'm hoping dd will let pick her up once a week (she will lol).

GiraffeTree · 25/10/2024 19:48

All OK here thanks OP. DS1 is away at uni, DD is at work (pub), DS2 has a friend over and they're on the Xbox. DH has gone out to do his hobby so I'm on the sofa with a glass of wine and some crisps.

Good luck with the birth @RomeoRivers!

Aw you poor thing, that truly sounds awful! And mom guilt on top? Nightmare!! Mind yourself, and maybe suggest lots of cozy movie nights & treats to give yourself a rest while still spending time with the kids

shakes head slowly
That summerises my so called Saturday.

EveryDayisFriday · 26/10/2024 11:54

Good mood overall despite not all good news.
Over the last week I've a few days off work so feel more relaxed but DH has woken at 6am every day so not really any lie ins. I've made the most of the time off and decluttered the house and got some of those house jobs out of the way. I'd sprained my wrist which was not fun. Yesterday I came home to a letter from final notice from Klarna, which I dont have an account with so I have a fraudulent purchase of £900 in my name which means my credit file is fucked in the next few months it takes them to close it down.
However, I'm currently chilling in the sun relaxed after a good workout and all is good.

UsernameNameUser · 26/10/2024 11:55

Hi all! I’m alright, thank you to all who asked ❤️ My anxiety was up a bit yesterday as I’m due on soon, and it always ramps up then. However it just made me think how many people might just need somewhere to rant or just talk in general - a check in thread then came to mind. Think it’s important sometimes to just have somewhere anonymous where you can really just let all the steam go

Well done on all you’ve gotten done, so sorry to hear of your wrist & the fraudulent activity!! I’ve used Klarna before and they’re normally so on the ball with ensuring it’s really you using it (think I had to upload my drivers license and all!!). Hopefully you get that sorted out! £900 is a lot of money!!

I’m lying in bed with the cat while DP makes bacon sandwiches (been up since 9 but have been taking turns making cups of tea). So that’s good! DP is going to do the last cut of the grass, then he’s off to football. I’m going to have a lovely big bath and read the new Red magazine, and we’re having a halloumi tray bake for dinner. 10/10 Saturday here.
