Gossip Harbor anyone?

Hi.
Just wondering if anyone else plays Gossip Harbor.
I'm on level 105, been playing for a few months. Thought it'd be nice chatting with fellow players.

Me! I've been playing for about 18 months and am on level 88 (or I might have just gone up to 89), I'm on day 102.

BrownJenkins · 25/10/2024 16:27

Hi @PrincessAnne4Eva
👋
Do you still enjoy it? I must admit I find the levels harder each time. I've even left it for a couple of days from sheer frustration.
When I first started playing I didn't pay for anything but now it costs me about £8 a week. I'm happy with that.

@BrownJenkins I sort of do. I definitely think it was at its best around levels 20-60, when the story was a bit stronger. I feel like they're spinning the storyline out a lot now and it's not moving forward as much as it was. I spend about £10 a month on it usually, because I limit myself to one big purchase or 2 little purchases (the season pass and a gem/energy deal, for example) per month, but in the past I was getting through about £10 a week, I've cut back a lot over the past 3 months. 😅 It's still the best merge game I've tried though.

I play it quite slowly because at the moment I basically use my 100 energy at bedtime, and make sure I grab my free goodie box and one of the energy boxes every day, as well as all the community stuff I can buy with coins in any given day (flowers, books, chocolates etc).

What do you think of the card collection aspect? I saw it on Gossip Harbor Reddit before I got the update with it in, and people seemed so positive about it, but I never seem to complete more than one or two sets before the next card collection comes round!

BrownJenkins · 25/10/2024 18:54

Absolutely the best merge game. All of the other ones I've downloaded haven't lasted more than a day. I got fed up and deleted them.
I like the cards, have completed so many sets. In fact, I enjoy all aspects of the game. The current thing for me is finding a ring in the choice of chests, no skill required, just guess. The only thing I can't work out is the Brimwave community, no idea what it's about or how to do anything with it. The higher the level, the less coins for items, that I don't like.

OP posts:
PrincessAnne4Eva · 25/10/2024 20:59

Ah I have the cards and the rings in the treasure chests at the same time, and I've got Lori's Dough Derby at the moment as well (it's all go lol). I've just been ignoring the cards lol.

The Brimwave Community... it took me a while to work out what was going on with it. Basically you start with a couple of characters and you give them those gifts, then you unlock more characters as you level up the existing characters, and you get prizes (or extra character scenes) each time you level the character up too, and you also get better daily gifts from each character as they get higher level.

I’ve only started this week. I’m on Day 15. It’s very addictive!

BrownJenkins · 12/01/2025 12:29

Yes, it certainly is. I recently got a new mobile, thought I could transfer the game, apparently not. I downloaded the game to the new mobile but kept my other mobile purely for Gossip Harbor. I now have twice the fun 😁
It gets better as you progress. I'm on level 32 and level 131

I've been playing this quite a lot lately, here's a question @BrownJenkins , have you had any of the energy potions with an infinity symbol on them? I got my first blue one this week and I'm wondering how many minutes they last for when you merge them?

BrownJenkins · 14/01/2025 21:04

Hi. If it's what I think, they last a long time. I've always used up my coins before they've stopped working. Hope that helps

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/01/2025 08:23

I have bought a few gems against my better judgment. I’m trying not to buy anymore now. It’s so much easier to play with the gems funnily enough! I love the additions to the cafe. I think that’s why I’m finding it so addictive.

Housebuy1 · 15/01/2025 08:25

Oooh yes I’m on level 35! Love it! It’s my destress time in the evening. 🤣

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/01/2025 18:21

Can I ask what the hourglass does? I’ve used it twice. Once accidentally and once today but I couldn’t see what it did. Being a bit thick!

BrownJenkins · 15/01/2025 21:27

The hour glass is supposed to slow the re-charging of the producing items. It doesn't always work, in my experience. You can merge 2 hour glass symbols and get twice as long before re-charging is needed. Hope that helps.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/01/2025 20:58

Ok thanks, I used a double hourglass and didn’t really see what it did. I was trying to get more uses out of the dog house. To get Sam his Dalmatian.

I’ve been 3 days trying to make one bagel. So frustrating!!! It’s taking so much energy.

Is anyone else concerned about the misogyny in the story one of Gossip Harbour? An abused single mother trying to protect her children in a state where there is no help from society, no shelters, no charity. The violent partners are not brought to justice and the victims will likely die of starvation, cold, lack of medication, in a Dickensian dystopia.
Aggressively marketed by ads where a male boss orders women assistants about while making sweeping statements about the powers of the game. Disturbing.

startrack · 16/03/2025 18:23

@BrownJenkinsim playing this too. Do you think it ever comes to an end or is it just about continually merging to make orders? I’m enjoying it but feeling I’d like an end point. Or maybe a break or something so that I’d achieved something 🤷‍♀️

BrownJenkins · 16/03/2025 20:49

@startrack hi.
It seems to just go on forever. New customers, new orders.
I can't remember how many new spaces have opened since I first started playing. I'm on level 153 at the moment and no end in sight.

I'm not sure we're all playing the same game as you?? The Gossip Harbor I'm playing has nothing like that in it at all. It's about a woman who leaves her DH as soon as he does something unacceptable, runs her own business, cares for her one child, solves mysteries, and stands up to a mysterious shady organisation, and I'm not saying anything more so as not to spoiler it for people at lower levels than me but... nothing remotely resembling what you've posted. Quinn is not disempowered in a misogynistic world at all. 😵‍💫

It seems you just watched the ads thinking the game is exactly like portrayed.
In fact, the game is nothing like the ads at all.
