I am a season ticket holder at a lower league football club. I go with a very dear old friend. It's a long story, but it's not my local side and about an hour from home for me.
We have an attractive FA Cup first round draw, but my usual friend can't go. I can use his season ticket allocation, but it's unlikely I'll get more tickets.
I also have a group of friends who I have from time to time gone to their (our local) club with.
So my option to offer the spare ticket to are:
- man who was very good to me and DH when Dh was dying and after, but our friendship comes and goes a bit depending on whether he has a GF, which he currently does
- woman who I get along well with when I see her, but who lives a very busy work life and a complicated personal life, which means she quite often disappears off the radar altogether and is very bad at replying to messages.
- lovely reliable man who would probably jump at the chance to come, but is married so I usually avoid doing social things alone with him.
- the most recent addition to the group, who would definitely be up for it, but who I suspect might see the invitation as a date, and that's not what I want from him.
Or I go on my own 😆
