I have an annoying Puppy and I'm watching yesterday's Coronation Street.

Had a tooth extraction over a week ago but still in loads of pain, saw dentist yesterday and confirmed I have dry socket so had that treated and been given antibiotics and strong painkillers but once the painkillers wear off I'm wide awake with the pain.

Also supposed to be going away today to the Peak District, I love hiking but not sure how much I will manage.
Need to write packing list and food list and then actually pack!!

The weather is beautiful today.... A bit breezy but good temperature and I have left my rain jacket at home. Have a lovely day out.

00deed1988 · 24/10/2024 05:58

Booked a last minute night away tonight and haven't packed and was too exhausted to do it before bed as just came off a stupidly long run of shifts 12 in 13 days plus an intense training day. So just getting overnight bag ready!

EvenLess · 24/10/2024 05:59

In A&E, where I've been for the past 48 hours with an infection. Finally got a trolley to lie on late last night while they try and get a bed on a ward. Sat up in the waiting room until then. It's been hellish.

Haven't had a shower or a proper meal since I got here. Much better off than some poor people lying around me though. I'm missing my little DD and wanting to go home 😢

I think she is working and clicking off 7.30! But hope the baby is ok but I don’t think it’s the poster’s child

She is a nightshift nurse finishing 7.30

Awaiting scans today for my very recent cancer diagnosis. I'm bricking it. I want to be here for my children and I'm trying to think positively but I'm so afraid.

Sweetheart ... You are in the right place to start getting treatment. I hope you get your results quickly so you don't have the added worry of no knowing.

@ohsotired2022 similar. Been awake since 3:30 am with anxiety about my health job and having circular thoughts about going off sick / carrying on / mental health / life choices etc etc. its not fun.

Sounds like you need time away from work. Take it. You’ll never give yourself permission but it’s what you should do. It’ll make a big difference.

HarkALark · 24/10/2024 06:03

Up since 3am worried about money, my health, the new job I've started, DDs friendships at school, the prospect of being homeless in 5 months. I'm tired. Alarm in 1 hour.

Unescorted · 24/10/2024 06:04

Opppps.... I hope she has an uneventful shift in that case.

Blankspace35 · 24/10/2024 06:07

About to disconnect my washing machine ready for a new one to be delivered for 7am!

cheesecakewrestler · 24/10/2024 06:07

I’ve just got back from 3 weeks away and have jet lag. I was awake at 3.30am and am now starving as it’s nearly ‘lunchtime’.

Mumof2heroes · 24/10/2024 06:08

Soooooooverthisnow
Nooooo is your husband not capable of cleaning up shit? 🙄

TerfTalking · 24/10/2024 06:09

One of the cats sat on me at 4:40 and wanted breakfast. Which then reminded me I needed a wee, the cold landing woke me up. So I fed the cats, made a lovely coffee and went back to bed and am watching Motherland back to back and pausing it at the cringy bits to catch up on Mumsnet.

edited to add, sorry for all those above who are having a rotten time, didn’t read them until I’d posted and my early wake up seems trivial in comparison. Hope you all sleep better tonight.

I am so sorry. There’s only so much we can take. I’ve left my last toxic job and it has taken me two months to stop my mind racing about it 24/7.

I met someone last night who I hadn't seen for 10 years, before I took early retirement. She couldn't get over how young I looked! Obviously the NHS had been wearing me down. I had struggled with what to do but honestly, leaving early and managing on less money for a while was the best thing ever for my mental health.

MessyNeate · 24/10/2024 06:13

@Unescorted not my baby I'm a nicu nurse

Jewelanemone · 24/10/2024 06:13

Flying to Indonesia for a diving holiday.

Elseaknows · 24/10/2024 06:15

My DH has been rattling around since half 4 getting ready for his shift (security industry). Once he's awake I'm normally awake too. I'm going to start getting the school uniform sorted and put washing on as we have a busy weekend coming up.

I hope everyone who is suffering with pain, has a speedy recovery 🙏

ChewbaccasMrs · 24/10/2024 06:19

I have insomnia and it's driving me up the wall,on sleeping tablets but they don't work and I'm already chronically ill and I know the not sleeping is only going to make it worse.

I've been flitting between here,fb,the news online and Christmas shopping.

Karmaisaguyonthechiefs · 24/10/2024 06:21

Gym before work

yn26 · 24/10/2024 06:21

First of all my cat woke me up at 4am by knocking my lamp off my bedside table during early morning zoomies. A regular occurrence. Kevin doesn’t understand the importance of an undisturbed sleep.

I managed to doze off and was woken up again at 4:45 by my rabbit thumping. Upon investigation, his issue was that he had tipped his hay basket over and it was covering one of his water bowls.

Hard work being a mother of 2 under 2.

discoballdave · 24/10/2024 06:23

I have a baby DS who enjoys getting up at this time for the day so here we are Grin

Tillybobbins · 24/10/2024 06:29

Sending best wishes and a hug @Flibberdigibbit

Figaroducksandcattos · 24/10/2024 06:31

Was up at 5.15, also with a puppy. Pee and a whine to get up, but managed another hour. She’s so cute but I’m counting down her puppy days 😩.

Imamumgetmeoutofhere · 24/10/2024 06:31

Nothing compared to some of you here but I've been awake for a while feeling very sad.

We had to have our 16 year old cat to sleep on Tuesday night after she was diagnosed with cancer and clearly in a lot of pain. We cleared all her things out yesterday as it was upsetting to see them around the house.

I dreamed about her and could hear her miaowing and haven't been able to sleep since. I'm just so sad and miss her
