How often do you change your toothbrush/toothbrush head?

I tended to do it twice a year, promoted by visits to the dentist. However, my dentist said you should do it every two-to-three months.

Modern toothbrush heads have dye to indicate when they need changing. Roughly every ten weeks mines changed

Fiery30 · 23/10/2024 22:32

I have a normal toothbrush and I change it every month.

Chypre · 23/10/2024 22:35

My electric toothbrush has “change head” flashing indicator, changing every 2 months.

When it seems to be a bit 'splayed'. I'd guess about every 3 months, but don't particularly monitor it.

Every 3 months on the 1st of the month so I remember.

TheShellBeach · 23/10/2024 22:39

Every week.

Same as PP I do it every 3 months on the 1st January, April, July and October. I would never remember otherwise!

We normally have new toothbrushes twice a year when we go on holiday- I feel a bit scuzzy now and will get new ones. We also get those scrubby net things you have a shower with at the same time- should I up the frequency with those too?

ItDontMeanAThing · 24/10/2024 06:31

I destroy toothbrushes 🤷. No idea how it happens. The longest I can leave it is a month before they literally fall apart. I try to buy the eco ones now because I can't stand to think how much plastic is wasted. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but then again I've never had a filling or teeth problems. Last time I went to a dentist was 20 years ago, when I was 10 years old.

Do you wash the body scrubber thing? If you never wash it, lots of people use it & you keep it for 6 months that's grim.
We probably use one for 6 months but it's washed weekly on a hot wash & it's mainly only me who used it

Every month with a maunual toothbrush.

StuntNun · 24/10/2024 14:30

I use a sensitive electric toothbrush head and it needs to be changed every two months. For the regular ones it's every three months.
