I have seen the most beautiful winter skirt. Looks great with tights, def a winter party skirt. I desperately want it. It's £30. But I won't wear it at my current size. I am a 16 and would buy it in a 12 as an incentive to lose weight. I would only be a able to wear it next winter/Xmas. I wouldn't dream of wearing it at my current size.

Thoughts ?
Waste of money ?

If it doesn't fit you now, it's a waste of money.

Buy it in your current size or not at all. It’ll be a waste of £30 if you buy it too small.

GiddyRobin · 23/10/2024 16:50

I'd buy it if you definitely know you'll stick to losing weight. It could be an incentive and you'll be chuffed next year! And if not, well then you can sell it on Vinted as unworn for £20.

Waste of money . If you can't wear it until next winter - save your £30 and buy something you love then.

TheFlis · 23/10/2024 17:38

I wouldn’t, you might have gone off it by next winter!

Get a 14

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 23/10/2024 18:20

Get a 16.

You can always have clothes made smaller and if you don't lose weight you'll feel shit every time you see it so buy it in your current size and you can feel great when it's loose

Qwerty21 · 23/10/2024 18:25

Waste of money. Why not just buy it in the size you are

verycloakanddaggers · 23/10/2024 18:30

Either but it in your size or not at all.

It's easy to take in a skirt by a couple of inches at the waist.

Sethera · 23/10/2024 19:08

What's your track record like on losing weight?

FleaDog · 23/10/2024 19:11

But does that mean, while the skirt would be your motivation to drop from a 16 to a 12, that if you managed this by next Christmas, that you would be replacing all your wardrobe that would no longer fit you?

So.1 garment might dictate your whole wardrobe?

I wouldn't bother, can you find it elsewhere in your size?
