Another glasses question?

For those who wear two different pairs. One gor reading and one for distance, how do you get on with it?
How do you manage switching between glasses all the time.
Any tips?

Also do you wear glasses with a colores frame?
I need to choose some new glasses. Never had a coloured frame before.
I've seen red and black?
Is it just personal
choice?
Hard to decide what to go for and with two país, there's more to think about?

I have 3 settings. Reading glasses, no glasses for every day life and long distance for driving or being anywhere out and about. It's an absolute pain in the ass. If I'm in a shopping centre I'll need my long ones to read signs or find shops, but they need to come off once inside because anything nearer than about 6 ft becomes blurry and painful to look at. They get thrown in my pocket or on my head because they are on and off on and off all day long. I have 2, one at home one on me but I'm thinking of getting a 3rd for the car only as I always have to remember them leaving the house. If I needed to read a label or tag it would be reading glasses. I usually get by without them in shops but bring for menus. I often get a headache cos I'll answer a text without doing the glasses swap. I work in a caring role so no glasses at work unless I'm doing paperwork.

This all kicked off in the past few years in my 40s. It took getting used to and really pissed me off if I'm honest.

I have coloured frames for driving, red and burgundy and my reading ones have thick black frames. I'll stick to this system I think cos it's confusing enough. Especially when I can't find my driving glasses and people start handing me reading glasses. It's easier have a strong colour difference

I've just got vari focals after having perfect vision for 49 years

So much easier than faffing about with reading glasses and swapping

I have to have two pairs - distance and reading, because of my (now) very complex prescription. I find it frustrating having to switch between glasses, especially as there is now a gap in my vision where neither pair works. I've been left sight impaired in one eye from a macular hole, glaucoma and cataracts which all came at once three years ago.

I wear contacts and reading glasses over the top when I need them. Don't need the reading glasses without contacts but cannot be doing with changing for different things.

I have varifocals and varifocal sunglasses and in summer it is an absolute pain swapping between them and a recipe for losing one set or another. I have tried transitions but didn't like them - personally I felt they didn't get dark enough as sunglasses, clear enough for everyday and the slowness with which the transitioned when going in and out of buildings was a recipe for tripping over the threshold and killing yourself.

If I had separate distance, reading and sunglasses I think I would spend my entire life rooting through my bag to find the right glasses for the situation.

As far as what to choose is concerned - base it on the colours you wear most often and what suits your own colouring. When you're getting more than one pair, make sure they aren't too similar so you can easily tell them apart.

I used to and hated it. Much much prefer varifocals.

I couldn't get on with one pair for both. I can't stand the going between the two pairs either.
Perhaps I should have the operation to reduce the need for glasses but I'm too nervous in case it goes wrong.😱
