In day three of feeling yucky, started out the blue with nausea and upset stomach, no appetite, achy and feeling a bit light headed, now feeling coldy just want it to go away! Anyway else?!

Yep, just assumed it was latest flavour of Covid. Lasted about 2 weeks. Using First Defence spray really helped the snotty nose, strangely enough.

Cloud44 · 23/10/2024 09:54

Did you have the dodgy stomach with it? Were you able to work through it?

OP posts:
Sparkletastic · 23/10/2024 09:57

Weirdly reassuring to know I'm not alone with this. Daily headaches, upset tum, sore throat. Currently hitting the First Defence hard. It's the headache and tiredness that is getting me down. Should be in office today but working from home instead.

Yes it's Covid

Octavia64 · 23/10/2024 10:03

Yes I have it

Cloud44 · 23/10/2024 10:03

I have actually done a covid test which was negative? How long have you had it for @Sparkletastic ?

OP posts:
buffyfaithspike · 23/10/2024 10:04

Yep
I've just spoken to my GP this morning who thinks it's flu

Is there a strange virus going around? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/5193348-is-there-a-strange-virus-going-around

MrsSkylerWhite · 23/10/2024 10:05

Yes, it’s run through the family, 3 households.

Cloud44 · 23/10/2024 10:09

How many days have people had it for? Does it sound similar to my symptoms? Not sure if I’m being a wimp and meant to push on through with work and just let it take its time or if I need to rest up!

OP posts:
Froggob · 23/10/2024 10:10

Yes! Started feeling a bit feverish/ like I was coming down with a cold. Then nausea and stomach pains. Threw up, then a couple of days with no appetite, headache and general discomfort.
DS has had a more standard cold-snotty, hot and achey.
Both negative for Covid but feeling better after 4 days

MrsSkylerWhite · 23/10/2024 10:11

A good week to feel better for us.

Only since Monday. Might take a Covid test too before I see my elderly frail dad. Got my Covid and flu imms booked for next week and I thought I was getting them in nice and early 😩

buffyfaithspike · 23/10/2024 10:13

I started on Saturday with a temp of 40 and pouring with sweat and shivering and a headache
Temp still up and down and I'm clammy and have a really upset stomach with cramps
Working from home but not very successfully

Cloud44 · 23/10/2024 10:15

I’m sort of glad it’s not just me feeling it but no one else I know seems to have it so don’t know where it’s come from! I don’t mind a cold but the stomach mixed in with nausea is stressing me out!

OP posts:
Cloud44 · 23/10/2024 12:11

Urgh feeling rubbish ☹️!

OP posts:
buffyfaithspike · 23/10/2024 12:15

It's awful, I feel so sick and have to keep running to the toilet every 30 mins
Not eaten for 2 days either

Onand · 23/10/2024 12:18

Some recent new variants of Covid may not be detected on current test kits. A lot at work and out of work had it these last few weeks, not so much the nausea but the fever and generally feeling horrendous.

LunaNorth · 23/10/2024 12:21

I had this. It lasted about two and a half weeks. Worst I’ve felt for years.

Cloud44 · 23/10/2024 12:26

Oh god two and a half weeks

OP posts:
Colourbrain · 23/10/2024 12:28

I have had similar. Started with upset stomach but I didn't feel too bad, then two days later I felt horrendous and had to stay in bed for a couple of days. Then I started to feel better and thought I was ok but had about three weeks of feeling a bit better and then worse again, just continually exhausted. I felt rubbish. I tested negative for COVID put perhaps it just didn't pick it up. Hope everyone feels better soon.

Cloud44 · 23/10/2024 12:36

What have people done about work?

OP posts:
Cas112 · 23/10/2024 12:50

Yes had it about two weeks ago, lasted 24hours for me then had upset stomach rest of week but fine now

Cas112 · 23/10/2024 12:50

Cloud44 · 23/10/2024 12:36

What have people done about work?

Mine was weekend so didnt need to call in sick, would have though. I just took imodium for rest of week with upset stomach

Cloud44 · 23/10/2024 12:59

Sounds silly but I’ve never taken Imodium before, does it really help an upset stomach?

OP posts:
Cas112 · 23/10/2024 13:07

It helped with the horrible cramps I was having yes and the unexpected dashes to the toilet ( sorry if TMI)
