Going to Tenerife next month for 4 nights
Booked flights with Ryanair
Flight is at 11-45 am
Gets there for 4.30pm
Only paid £60 for both

Had a look and there's a jet 2 flight which leaves at 8.45am and gets there for 1.30pm

It's £110 for both of us

Would you change to get there earlier ?
Considering it's a short trip
Or just keep flights we have ?

I’d leave it as it is. It’s not that much earlier.

Peasnbeans · 23/10/2024 08:09

Depends which resort you're in (transfer time) and return flight time, and how far from uk airport you live.

Clearinguptheclutter · 23/10/2024 08:10

I’d stick with it but make a note to research ALL the options before booking next time!

No, it's only 3 hours difference

milooowud · 23/10/2024 08:10

The transfer time is 20 mins from airport if that
We are staying in Golf Del sur

Can you get to the airport for 6am easily?

Radiatorvalves · 23/10/2024 08:12

I wouldn’t bother. You’d need to be at airport very early - is that achievable? Fwiw I’d have booked the earlier flights, but would stick to what you’ve got. If there was a short delay you’d feel really seen off!

Ohmych · 23/10/2024 08:13

You need to se what time you can check into your accommodation before you change flight times.

Twinstudy · 23/10/2024 08:13

I wouldn't for the sake of 3 hours, you'll be seriously pissed off if it's delayed 😄

NoOneKnowsWhoYouAre · 23/10/2024 08:14

Absolutely not.

Hardlyworking · 23/10/2024 08:15

Absolutely not bother. In fact I think you'd be insane to do this. There's no guarantee the earlier flight won't have delays, and imagine how mad you'd be to see the Ryanair flight taxiing away if you were still stuck in the terminal!

Also, the later flight let's you enjoy a lie in and a relaxed morning leaving more energy for your first night out.

Finally, regional airports tend to be a lot busier around the 6am mark, so extra stress again.

milooowud · 23/10/2024 08:18

Thanks everyone that's a help
I'm the worst decision maker
This later flight gives us a lie in and like you say imagine if the flight was delayed by even a hour-I would be fuming.
Plus landing at half 4 isn't bad is it
Should be at hotel for 6
So still time to enjoy a night

In my view the later flight is better.

timenowplease · 23/10/2024 08:46

No way. An 8.30 flight means you have to get there at 6.30, so up at 4?

I never sleep properly when I have those very early morning flights. The 11.45 one is much more civilised and you'll feel much better.

thunderbox · 23/10/2024 08:52

No I wouldn't. Not worth it for a few hours.

nowtygaffer · 23/10/2024 09:00

I would change it...but that's because I much prefer Jet2 to Ryanair! Also getting up at a civilised hour will mean you have a nicer first day.

Are you flying to Tenerife South from the UK? If so, the flight is usually 4 hours and about half hour transfer by Taxi at most, depending on where you're going.

For the price I wohld just stick with what you've got

milooowud · 23/10/2024 11:20

Think that's a resounding don't bother
I think the extra 3 hours would be nice but not £100 nice

It's a long way to go for 4 days, in terms of it being nearly 7 hours before you arrive there so it depends why you are going?

To fly and flop, I'd stick with the flights. To go for a fit as much of the island as can in, I'd go earlier

milooowud · 23/10/2024 12:02

@YellowphantGrey literally just to relax
Don't plan on leaving the hotel
Just booked a nice hotel /all inclusive and just want some sunshine
We have been lots of times now so already seen most of the island /trips etc in the past

Are you a flights refundable? Sounds like a lot of hassle- keep it as it is.
It’s not that much time difference if the hand luggage (assuming you’re just taking hand luggage ) is much more expensive than the first flight then change it otherwise just leave it
