i've tried to offer water in a sippy cup and in a spoon when my baby started weaning. he choked all the times i tried cause water is so thin, but he's been constipated, even tho i breastfeed all the time he wants, and he gets plenty of wet nappies. i'm just worried as he is old enough to start learning how to drink water, any tips? how was it with u all introducing water? he only breastfeed is hard as he is not used to cups or bottles. the same problem with food doesn't like to try to use the spoon only bites it🤣( as it's normal) but only eats with his hands.

Not sure if this is any help but I've seen on tiktok people saying they put yoghurt on the bit baby sucks from on the bottle/ sippy cup to get them used to putting their mouth around the spout and apparently they can learn that way because when they're biting/ sucking the water will come out..

I have 9 month old but I just used to give him sips of water as he wouldn't use the spout, but one day I tried again and he just went for it. ( always bottle fed though) so might have had more of an idea. I think ive seen people saying about using sippy cups at play time as well, so pretending to drink out of them.and making it a fun game and then adding some water in. Sorry if my suggestions aren't the best but thought I'd try haha. Sure you/ baby will get there.

It’s not a long term solution but you can offer lots of high water foods like melon or milky porridge to relieve his current constipation. Prunes work well too.

When you say choked? Do you mean coughing/gagging? They are two very different things.
Gagging is a normal part of a baby learning how to navigate different textures in their mouth. It doesn’t mean you should stop giving them that thing.
Gagging sounds a bit horrible while their doing it but it’s just their bodies reaction to new sensation.
