NHS Wales, backdated pay rise...

For those of you who work in the NHS, have any of you had the backdated 5.5% pay rise in your pay this month?
I'm in Wales and we were told (via several emails) that it the backdated pay would be in our November pay.

I've checked my payslip this month and I have a payment for "basic pay arrears", so wondered if this was it. However my colleague has not had hers. It's not as much as I'd have expected and was hoping to use it for some Xmas shopping. I've got no idea why I've had a basic pay arrears payment otherwise.

Also, this is my first pay month since increasing my hours, so I wasn't sure how much extra pay to expect (once the extra tax NI, pension and student loan is taken).

Thank you.

This is your October pay. You get your November pay in a month

Yes I know it's my October pay. I was just wondering if anyone had received their backdated pay rise this month. Online it says it will be paid in October but all the emails I've had via work have said November.
I'm only querying it because I've had a random arrears payment this month and no idea why (so assumed it was the backdated pay).

Why is it less than you were expecting?

We're supposed to be getting it in our October pay. I'm in England.

Because I've roughly estimated how much I should receive. However with all the tax, NI, pension, student loan etc it's hard to work out what to expect. Especially as this is my first pay month since increasing my hours.

Are you in Wales? Or elsewhere? Online seems to suggest it is to be paid in October but we've been told November. I just need to work out what this arrears payment is for.

Thank you for your reply. This is what it says online but we've been told November. I was only curious due to my extra payment!

We've been told November but it's a good few months of pay rise so should be hopefully a nice chunk!

Anon181 · 22/10/2024 16:21

@GinnyPiggie this is what I'm hoping! It will be great to receive a lump sum before Xmas.

Maybe phone your payroll people and ask them what the pay arrears is this month, it's probably your increased hours adjustment and you'll get your 5.5% next month.

I am in Wales and was expecting it this month, but its not appeared!

dicdicnurse · 22/10/2024 20:45

I'm in wales. Apparently they were preparing for us to have it in Oct and then it got pushed to November. That may be just my trust though.
