Struggling to think of an actor I would cast rather than the dark haired chap that is playing him in Rivals, but maybe that's the point - he is sooo perfect his likeness doesn't exist

I'm afraid to say a young Hugh Grant cica. Bridget Jones. He was really sexy in that film and the accent is spot on.

Matt Smith is too weedy looking physique wise. He looks like he’d snap in a breeze. RCB is a top athlete, ex Olympian.

Dame JC (who is one of my heroes) also wasn’t convinced … at first she was very against the casting but was (as I’ve heard through very legitimate lines), overruled because the AH was so convincing. And to be fair, he is … but he isn’t as dreamy as he’s meant to be.

I just think the man they have cast is who I always imagined. He's perfect.
Alex Hassell. Perfect casting.
I never pictured him blonde.
One of my favourite ever books and this TV adaptation is blissfully perfect for me.

When I saw the trailer I didn't think it but he really did the role well

Rupert Penry Jones (huge fan) was in latest Batman with R Pattinson...but gets killed in first scene - a sad waste of his talents! That Batman film was meh though.

Ooh no @SerafinasGoose , that's not my RCB! I still don't know who could do him justice. I've come around to Alex Hassell though, reluctantly although he's NOT BLOND! Or blue eyed and I think they should have done that with contacts and hair dye tbh. Jilly was always talking about his cerulean blue eyes...

I recently re-watched the whole series and it's even better second time around (although I skipped some of the distressing bits of the Daisy episode)
