Online shop and voucher

If you do an online shop and use a voucher that you had to pay towards part of it but the item never arrives and gets lost do you expect to get the voucher back? I’m asking as this is what happened to me but the company are only refunding what I paid and no mention of the voucher I used, even though I stated in my email I used a voucher and what would happen with that.

The voucher should be treated as cash and refunds issued to methods of payment. So you should get the amount you paid by voucher back onto the voucher (or a new one/gift card issued) and if you had to top up by credit card or something then that amount returned to your card.

No it won’t be treated as cash as it was an online voucher that I had earned from previous purchases so my payment total was the amount without the voucher

So was it like a points thing? You've earned eg £20 off for 200 points?
So you should get those points back.
In any case your refund will be what you actually paid and any voucher/points given back to you.

You should get the same value of voucher back. Is this Morrisons, I had to chase them for them to do so but they did issue a new voucher in the end.
