Help me pay attention

I've never had lots of memories from growing up, I have some but my family will remember so much more than me about holidays etc that I can barely remember going on, let alone any actual details.

As an adult I've noticed I don't remember much either. We went to watch transformers one last night and 24 hours later I can barely remember it. I don't remember my mind wandering particularly during the film but I feel like I should be able to recall more of it. Same with family holidays etc. Luckily I have loads of pictures which do jog my memory.

This doesn't seem to affect me so much at work but I do take notes in all meetings (or I won't even listen) and I have good recall of those discussions without looking at my notes.

What techniques do I need to be looking up to help me remember/notice stuff better? I don't want to 'forget' my kids childhood because my brain has failed to store any kind of details.

I'm exactly the same as you! If I take notes it helps but otherwise I just don't hold on to things. I have barely no memories of childhood at all. So if you find a solution please share!

I keep a diary every few weeks and sometimes things come up from a year ago and I'm like... what?

I'm the same, I was just thinking about it the other day.
I have ADHD , I don't know if that's relevant?
