InPost collection - not going to make the 3 day deadline

I thought I had tomorrow to collect my parcel but it turns out the deadline is 3am Monday. 😖 It's actually a small distance away so I can't pick it up now, nor can I ask anyone else to do it this late on a Sunday.

Is there a chance it could still be there tomorrow morning or afternoon? I could possibly ask a friend to do it but I don't want them to go out of their way to get it if it's not there.

It's also something I bought off vinted. I'm not sure what to do - will the sale then be cancelled? And would they have to relist so I can buy it again?

Can you give a rough idea of the area the seller is in?

thecrispfiend · 20/10/2024 21:29

Yes it goes back to the seller for re listing after 3 days but depends what time collection is, it may still be there tomorrow x

CherryHinton · 20/10/2024 21:32

If your collection time is 3am then that probably means it gets dropped off/collected about that time too (certainly the ones near us follow that pattern) so it probably will go, although I guess it's possible you get lucky. While in theory they can relist it's going to take a while for it to get back to them as well.

Mamma37868 · 20/10/2024 21:35

Will I still be able to track it if it is collected again? So I know if it's still there before I ask someone to check.

What's the earliest you can get there? It's worth getting up as early as you can to get it rather than mess the seller about.

LeafHunter · 20/10/2024 21:38

If you download the InPost app then you’ll be able to check when it’s been collected. I had a buyer once not collect something but they messaged to apologise and asked if they could buy it again for me. I took a photo of it still wrapped and posted that on Vinted, messaged them and the bought it immediately. Very little stress for me as the seller 😂

Overthebow · 20/10/2024 21:41

It may still be there if you can get there early. The seller can realist but they don’t have to.

fungibletoken · 20/10/2024 21:45

Definitely worth a shot first thing in the morning. I had this a month ago and a few minutes after the deadline had passed received a message from InPost saying that the package had been picked up by the courier. However, I tried on a whim and it was still there several hours later. I think that courier message must have been automated - bit naughty of them imo!

Mamma37868 · 20/10/2024 21:52

I can't do it first thing because I do school drop off. I could ask DH as he has the car but he would have to take a detour that takes him through rush hour. I just feel terrible at inconveniencing him when it might not even be there.

People like you are the reason I took inpost off my postage options on Vinted...... I kept missing postage deadlines because the lockers were always full due to people not collecting and just leaving their parcels there for days!

(Sorry I realise that's no help to your problem but it's a petty bug bear of mine 😂)

TheSnugHare · 20/10/2024 22:30

Just go and get it now, those lockers are 24/7
