Inverted / V bum

Chattenoire · 20/10/2024 13:22

Posting here for traffic. I just realised I have a V/ inverted bum. I have enough projection so it looks ok with clothes on, but in underwear it's a completely different story. Has anybody been able to fix it?

Do you realise those pictures are not of real bums?
This is a made up categorisation. Like we haven’t got enough to worry about.
I suppose squats or lunges might help bottom shape and be of functional value (and may help you stay out of a care home in the distant future, which would motivate me over someone’s arbitrary categorisation of my butt shape).

Why you acting like you weren't aware?

I’m aware of my arse, it knocks things off tables all the time.

nchnchnchnhhh · 20/10/2024 20:42

Oh fuck off about hip dips.

If you don't like your bum then do squats and eat more to grow muscle.

I went from a pancake to a round bum. Years of office sitting reversed. That was with five months of heavily lifting 3 times a week last year. Squatting my body weight, deadlifts etc. Ate in a calorie surplus and gained and lost a stone. Recompositioned 5% body fat to muscle.

The bottom left corner of his pec?! Thanks for finding this, I can sleep tonight knowing there is equality, though not in his chest area.

Hahah this really made me chuckle 🤭

When I was at school there was a girl with a massive shelf of an arse who had the piss taken out of her daily, poor thing. If she were at school now she'd be idolised.
Body image can get in the fuckin' bin.

Yes, I do. I don't look at pictures of derriers, I have no need, I can feel the "cavity" with my own hands which is how I noticed.

About 7 years ago I lost 70lbs before that my bum was a traditional round one. A few years of competitive running made it flat like a pancake, and now with a year of spinning I've gained more volume at the top which has made the concavity of it more obvious.

Looked up hip dips

immediately found them described as one of the most toxic inventions of social media.

But saddlebags have always existed... (Which are a related term).

What fresh hell is this? Christ years ago all women had to worry about was if they were fat and if their tits were too big/small/saggy. Now I’m expected to worry about what shape my arse is?

😂😂👍

Think of it like this. You may have the bum of the future without realising it. If someone would have told me in the 90s that big bums would be all the rage I’d have laughed but here we are 🤷‍♀️

Exactly this. I spent a lifetime wishing I had thinner thighs as a smaller arse. Apparently I'm now 'de jour'. Pity my saggy tits and failing jawline are less do.

Honestly, I really cannot believe women are still obsessing about this stuff. Have we learned nothing?

Then you will probably do well trying to lift it. With exercise I mean, not surgery. Do you have a lot of loose skin? That can also have an effect.

Probably also a term invented by a misogynist.

Misogyny has always existed, but since for most of human history women’s legs were covered, any derogatory terms for women’s thighs are of fairly recent origin.

mitogoshigg · 20/10/2024 22:20

Having seen the pictures I'm still none the wiser as it seems some were wearing more flattering knickers. What I do know is that if you eat more food your bum gets fatter, I have plenty to spare, so they need to work out a safe way for us endowed people to donate our spare flesh. I still find it hilarious women want big bums now and scarily risk they lives getting enhancements

DameKatyDenisesClagnuts · 20/10/2024 23:03

Surely nobody actually cares about this shit ?

Actually, no I don't have loose skin. What's visible is the change of the area with volume and then where it goes "in". I used to have loose skin though so this is certainly an improvement.

Then work on your hamstrings to lift it and it should start to look rounder.

I understand why a lot of people are saying who cares, but I think this isn't a typical sexist thing where women have to look good for men. I think both men and women who goes to the gym a lot focus on tiny things that others don't particularly pay attention to. Some people goes to the gym to increase funcionality but a lot of people also enjoy the visual changes that comes with it and it becomes a driving force. That could be anything from bigger calf muscles, more defined abs, rounder bum or muscular back, for example. It may seem superficial and unimportant to those who don't care but it's no different from having your hair coloured or nails painted.

Thank you!

I'm very lucky that most of my body responds really to working out. Plus I spend at least 5hrs per week investing my time that way, so I definitely expect some sort of results! However there are things like boobs that became a casualty of it, but I just accepted it and have moved on.
