Would you travel tomorrow if you didn't have to in regards to storm ashley?

I was due to visit my aunt in another city tomorrow. I really want to see her and don't want to let her down but I also can't afford to get stuck there overnight if the trains end up going off. My husband is saying to cancel it and go another weekend.

The train company is saying trains should be running but are subject to change at anytime and will be running at a reduced speed and to keep checking through the day as they could be taken off at any point due to the weather. The Police in my region are advising against unnecessary travel and I suppose my trip isn't vital.

I just wish it was either definitely ok to go or the trains were all cancelled, its all this it might be ok, keep checking that is frustrating and making it my call! I also think that it could all just be a bit overhyped. We are only in a yellow warning area.

What would you do?

I would make the call tomorrow morning. I assume you are in Cumbria, and it looks like it will be pretty bad there.

I would cancel.

The Police in your region are advising against unnecessary travel. Why would you ignore this for a social visit?

@RollerSkateLikePeggy I think if it was just going somewhere on my own I would wait till tomorrow but it feels more respectful to give my aunt some warning by calling it off tonight if you see what I mean.

You should follow the advice given.

I’m in Ireland and I’m travelling from the west of Ireland to Dublin by train tomorrow. I’d travel if I were you, it’s not like it’s a red warning.
