Scouts JOTI/JOTA

JOTI/JOTA is Jamboree on the internet/Jamboree on the airwaves. An international virtual scouting event involving young people from all over the world.

Has anyone else got a scout hoping to participate in JOTI/JOTA this weekend? We have found the registration process almost impossible and attempting to participate in anything yesterday was slow and clunky.
DH is a scout leader and works in IT so theoretically we should be well placed to get it all working but it just seems impossible

DH is a ham radio enthusiast , he and a friend took their equipment to the local troop and had a great time making contacts.
He even got a badge for taking part!

We're still trying to get the Minecraft element to work, probably give up soon.

It's such a shame as it's a good chance to get the international element done for their gold. Luckily Kent next year should help towards that

I don’t even know what this is. My scout is at actual scout camp this weekend doing a navigation course. I feel like they spend so much time indoors on a device, I’d rather they actually be outside doing something.

I've tried multiple times over the years to understand how JOTI/A works.
I never get further than join in when trying to get help.

KIJ will cover the international element of Gold so I wouldn't worry about that.

Mine raft seems to be the easiest way but let us know how it goes

Sorry I can't help. Just came in to say that my 3 DGS In Australia take part in this every year and love it. I hope you get it sorted. Last year they built old fashioned ham radios using a soldering iron and kits. This year they are focussing on robotics. I'm constantly amazed at the variety of things they do at scouts!

Thanks everyone. We are officially giving up now.
Roll on KIJ 🏕️
