Vinted - am I missing something?

I feel like I must be missing something. Can someone explain to me what's going on here?

I believe I listed this item at £5.

A buyer offered me £3.50 which I declined.

However the sale went through at £3.50?

No fault of the buyer, but how was this possible if I declined the offer?

Is the £3:50 what's left once they take off the postage and sellers tax?

missmousemouth · 18/10/2024 11:29

Isn't that all covered by the buyer? The seller usually gets what the seller asks for.

I received £3.50 at the end. Normally I received the price I ask for.

If I receive less it'll only be because I accepted a lower offer.

In this case I declined the lower offer but still received less than I asked for.

I've seen people mention this happening on Vinted Facebook groups. It appears to be some sort of glitch. You are well within your rights to cancel the sale and explain this to the buyer and include this screenshot.

Catipepo · 18/10/2024 11:32

Why did you send it at a price you weren't happy with? Should have just cancelled the order?

She would have got automatic negative feedback from vinted if she cancelled

Got to be a glitch. Makes no sense.

Bjorkdidit · 18/10/2024 12:19

Do you have anything you can screenshot and send to the buyer and/or Vinted to prove you rejected the offer?

Could you have clicked the 'accept' option by accident?

I think this is one of those cases where you feel in your rights to challenge it, but you'll probably not get very far and be left feeling it wasn't worth the hassle for the chance of gaining £1.50.

DoobleDecker · 18/10/2024 12:50

Message the buyer explaining, then delete the whole listing and put it back up. I’ve done that in similar circumstances and no negative review.

I work in software development for mobile apps and this looks like a bug to me and could easily happen.
report it to Vinted

Because I was out of the country and didn't realise it had gone through. My DH posted it. I shut the shop as soon as it had.

I have the image below.

£1.50 isn't worth it. But what if the buyer had offered £1 and it had gone through? Does this mean I should not respond to offers at all just in case Vinted sends it at a lower price anyway.

Thanks. I have reported it and got nowhere. But will keep doing so.

That actually looks like you had the price set at £3.50 & they offered £5, which you declined so they bought it at £3.50. It doesn’t make much sense but on my account the amount on the right crossed out is the original price, with the offer price on the left.

This is what I was going to say too! That must be the glitch people are talking about?

No I’ve cancelled a few orders and depending what option you pick you don’t get automatic bad feedback

Having checked other offers, I think you might be right! Gosh. Thank you. That is so weird.
