Do 'collection only' things on ebay sell?

I have two things I have been trying to sell for a while, if possible I would like to sell them in person because I'm scared of the buyer saying they never recieved them, One of them is quite high ish value (memorabillia) and I would be gutted if it got lost in the post or whatever, I have tried marketplace and gumtree and so far no luck.

Would I be wasting my time going for the collection only option on ebay or do they actually sell?

I specify cash only for collection items. Yes they do sell but it takes awhile and I find I have to remind people that it's cash only as most pay using PayPal which I then refund. They then agree to cash.

Wonder if it would be better in a specialised online auction with a reputable firm that's well known for that type of thing?

Whenever I’ve bought collection only it’s something like a pram that is too big to post. For something that could be posted I’d think collection only was a pain and wonder why you didn’t want to post.

Well. Yes eventually it might but reduces your market by 99%.
