Help my printer won't stop!

Help my printer is being mean

I just needed pages 3-6 of a 78 page document... but somehow put 36 in the NUMBER OF COPIES...

and now I can't cancel it. The print queue has crashed so cant' cancel on laptop. The printer won't cancel it - it says cancelling and then merrily tries to carry on. I've taken all the paper out, turned it off and on again a few times but it's still wanting to print..

It would be 2808 bits of paper if I let it go and I don't even have that much paper!

Please tell me how to stop it... usually I can't get the blasted thing to print at all

Unplug it?

StopPissingMeOff · 15/10/2024 11:09

Oops
Sorry missed you'd turned it off already.

Reboot the laptop

Restart the computer?

Smithhy · 15/10/2024 11:11

A really busy one, by the sound of it.

unsync · 15/10/2024 11:14

Kill the print queue in processes through settings.

hp envy inspire - I think it's trying to drown me. Yesterday it took me half an hour to get it to work at all today it's making up for it.

I've rebooted laptop a couple of times but print queue is still crashed... if you never hear from me again please send someone with a very large shredder I might need help.

Feel like a right idiot Grin

When you reboot your laptop are you shutting down or restarting? (It does make a difference).

Where you’ve cancelled on the printer and it’s trying to carry on, let it have a chance to. Put 3/4 pieces of paper in so it can carry on to a safe place for it to stop.

I've stopped it - thank goodness.

Rebooted lap top half a dozen times, rebooted printer as well and finally the printer queue reactived on the laptop and I was able to cancel then as @Smithhy suggested I gave it a few bits of paper to finish off - probably ended up with 40 pages rather than 2800 Feeling really quite relieved
