Strength, cardio or flexibility workouts?

I currently work out 5/6 times a week, strength training and running, tend to do 40 mins weights then either a 5 or 7k run. On Saturdays I just run, about 10k. I’m finding my flexibility is getting worse and as I’m 60 I know I need to do something about this.

should I swap some cardio sessions for either yoga or Pilates and if so which one is best? I do have a troublesome lower back.

How about swimming OP. Good cardio and also tones and makes you flexible all in one.

Yes, or, at the very least, learn some really good stretches. I go to a class called 'Stretch and Flex' and, apart from doing them at the weekly class, they are really easy to do at home - or, in your case, after a run.

There are so many different types of yoga. You have to find one that suits you, or that you enjoy. I think it can take a while to get in to it.

there's lots on line though, so you could try out some before committing to a class. Yoga with Adrienne is free quite popular.
