There is a strip light on the ledge as well and there were tissues thrown up there as well. As well as the grime and dust in the room. So I am glad I had my full CSI gear 🤣.

It's a maté straw called a bombilla. Mate is an ancient drink consumed in South America, particularly in Argentina and Uruguay. You drink it through a straw to stop you consuming the loose bits of tea

I bought one of these for my youngest one Christmas. He'd read that a few of his footballing heroes drank yerba mate. So I bought him a kit. Which included a cup (gourd) and the green tea.
He tried it once, it was rank and the gourd stank the cupboard out. Might still have the spoon thing.
We did not not use it to chase the dragon or cut up our cocaine.

This. Half my family use these on a daily basis. The really nice ones are made of silver.

Yes! We have one exactly like the OP's, along with a leather cup, with a metal rim.

It's for Maté {Drink}-not heroin.

Heroin uses foil to be smoked through.
Edit...How do I know? Volunteered in drugs charities - and seen Maté straws.

They are indeed- some beautifully chased. some..like here have 22carat gold accents.
