Book suggestions for DH please

DH has ADHD and was diagnosed with dyslexia many years ago (although he's not typically dyslexic, I suspect it's more likely to be linked to his ADHD)

He's always wanted to read but has really struggled. Due to some new medication and a major change in mindset he's suddenly found himself able to read and is making a real effort to read daily.

Books cannot be too long, and he struggles with content that jumps back and forth (for example between times or characters) As a result he's been reading Harry Potter, Michael Morpurgo and several other books with short stories per chapter. He can obviously deal with slightly more adult themes (he recently read The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas) but is mostly looking for easier reading.

Is anyone able to make recommendations that he might enjoy? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated 🙂

He might like the Percy Jackson books by Rick Riordan (the main characters have ADHD and dyslexia). It's a bit like HP where the characters age through the series. If he's more of an audiobook person they are also on YouTube/Spotify Smile

ipreferbooks thank you, we've already done Percy Jackson with DS so not sure why I hadn't considered them!

As a family we are a big fan of Audible, so that's always been an option for him.

What about a kindle? Sometimes it's the font that's off-putting. My BIL who wasn't a reader is an avid reader using the dyslexic font on kindle....

Agatha Christie?

A favourite author of mine is Steve Higgs. He’s done several different series, cozy mysteries. They’re not heavy reading, and the books tend not to be too long. I read them on the kindle and you can pick them up quite cheaply.
