I'm shamelessly posting this in Chat in the hope it garners more traffic (name changed so isn't linked to previous posts), as I really need some on the ground intel from people with daughters at CLC.
I am looking for a place for my daughter to start in year 9 (LC3) and want to know what it's really like beyond the smiles of the open day. She would be a day girl.
How international is it? If it's more than half girls from abroad, has this hindered your girls' chance of making friends in this country (for holidays, future friendships etc). This is one of the things that puts me off the school. By having such a large contingent from abroad, does it change the ethos/ culture/ friendships your girls can cultivate? (Ie, they all fly home to Hong Kong/ Nigeria over the holidays, or move immediately back there after school finishes, breaking ties).
The head seems very good, down to earth, right ethos, talks the talk. Seems to be a large focus on pastoral care??
I'd love to hear the opinions - good and bad!
