In the last couple of weeks people have been telling me how dangerous they are because of inhaling water. This is bllcks, isn't it?

Are they talking about filling vapes with water?

The majority of e-liquids are made with oil AFAIK. None of them are great for your health but I can’t see why it would be the water that’s the issue, as opposed to the chemicals contained in them.

I think that I am amazed how strongly people tell me that this is a fact. I was doubting myself and too polite to argue. Next time I am going to ask them where they get their evidence from.

I'm not clued up, but I know initially they used a flavouring that they linked to popcorn lung. But they removed it now along as you buy the vapes that adhere to regulations. Online random sites might have it.

Research wise they don't know or have evidence long term for either way as they haven't been around long enough.

They are better then cigarettes though short term as don't have C02, Tar ect. But long term can't yet be verified.

But tbh I think exhaust fumes and city air isn't great 😅

I've been waiting nine years now for the 'popcorn lung' turd to flush.

I heard from a nurse about 5 years ago. I glad I don't use vapes though.

No, none of them should have oil in - that is bad for your lungs.

The base is a mixture of two types of glycerine - propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine. Sometimes just VG.

I don't know anything about water based vapes but I know Hon Lik, who invented them to help his wife quit smoking, started out using a water base but it didn't work very well.

You can see how people get confused: the media really don't help. The nonsense stories are so much more memorable.
