Is it worth going? I don't want blizzards but I really do like cold weather. Also how busy is it likely to be? Will be staying at the millennium knickerbocker hotel...

Thanks

We went for new year a few years back. It was cold but not crazy cold; it snowed a few times but the city is well geared up for it. The city was busy but not so busy we couldn't do things. Lots of art, architecture, exploring the city.

I’ve only ever been once and it was November time, so can’t help with that particular time of year, but it was absolutely fantastic and in your position i’d go in a heartbeat.

So much to do. Stunning City. Go!

I went for my brothers wedding just after Christmas and it was freezing! -6 in the middle of the day but it was lovely. I was only there a short time and only got to see the city for one day but it was a stunningly clear, beautiful day. I would go at that time of year again if I could, but...when it snows it really does so you'd need to factor that in.

We went several years back in January after winning a trip. We had an amazing time but oh my gosh it was cold! I believe -20 in the day at one point. Would recommend, but go prepared!

I've only been on May but keep an eye on the weather sometimes in winter out of interest and it does get very cold. I can only imagine what the lake is like in winter with cold wind blowing in.

I lived there from January to May one year. I think it was the first snow fall when I arrived. 18 inches over night happened a few times. But it is set up for snow/the cold. The airport for example shuts less frequently than New York.
If you wrap up warm and plan your routes it is great. Can be very cold by the lake if the wind is blowing.
It's actually better than thaw when quite frightening huge lumps of ice can fall off skyscrapers
