Gift ideas for a 70th

My dad is turning 70 and I'm in desperate need of some decent gift ideas, achievable without spending a lot.
He loves history, travel, appreciates a beer but none of the fancy-pants kind, not I to cars,golf, gardens anything like that.
Please help! In an ideal world, I'd book them a trip somewhere historical, but I can't afford to.

There’s a great exhibition on at the British museum called Silk Roads. I went last week and loved it so plan to buy 2 tickets for my FIL for his 71st.

I got my dad a book of newspaper headlines of every year, from his birth date to his 70th birthday.
