Geek Girl books.. Just ordered for my 11 year old dc

I just ordered the Geek Girl books for my dd age 11. I thought she could watch the Netflix series after.. Has anyone elses dd read them & enjoyed?

Oh no! Is it that bad? I've ordered the books already, hopefully they're better than the series.. Dd is at that in between stage now, complete bookworm but looking for something more than Murder Most Unladylike etc but not too advanced as regards sex, language, drugs etc if that makes sense!
