Although of course MC is a game for all seasons, I do have especially fond memories of an October championships in Wales and extracurricular… fun amid the greenery of a National Trust garden.

If I've missed anyone I do apologise; do round up any players you happen to see or hear of.

And I'll start with a lovely little move that the Reverend taught me.
Finsbury Park

Well now you're just showing off.

Elephant and Castle

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 26/10/2024 23:19

Hmm. This all seems highly irregular, but I'm keen to master some of the newer moves so popular with the younger generation of players of the game of games, so I'll add a marginal Swift to

Totteridge and Whetstone

Seaside1234 · 27/10/2024 07:28

@GertrudeJekyllAndHyde , that move took ten years off you.

In contrast, I'm showing my age with a Hambleton's 5th to Greenwich.

MyrtleStrumpet · 27/10/2024 15:05

Indeed you are, @Seaside1234. You should really catch up with BasedVibes' MC on TikTok. Her moves are getting a lot of likes.

Like Hanwell.

But you probably won't even get it.

Boredmum24 · 28/10/2024 10:17

Ooh always appreciate a new insight into the game of games. Brixton

MarkWithaC · 28/10/2024 17:26

Exciting stuff!

Well if we're going to include some science I will balance that with Austen's Eloquence.

Waterloo

LlynTegid · 29/10/2024 11:21

I think a move to Lambeth North is a sensible one.

Seaside1234 · 29/10/2024 12:24

I'll show you sensible.

Acton Town.

Boredmum24 · 29/10/2024 12:36

Embracing the return to first principles. A Simpsons slide to Euston

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 29/10/2024 18:10

With a heavy heart, I'm left with no alternative but to move a longitudinal demi-shunt to

Nine Elms

MyrtleStrumpet · 29/10/2024 20:07

Gosh, that was clunky.

But it does open the way to

Farringdon

YellowPolkaDotBikini1980 · 30/10/2024 06:33

Because of size the gap between the platform and carriages at Farringdon, you know what's allowed...

I'm feeling generous because our stables just welcomed a new thoroughbred Arabian for stud, and our falconer has said a new Peregrine has just hatched. Wildly out of season, but I'll accept the good fortune.

I will let someone else make the move and take the glory.

Seaside1234 · 30/10/2024 07:41

What, Holborn?

BlackOrangeFrog · 30/10/2024 08:51

An Shaw's Slip to Gunnersbury

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 30/10/2024 10:05

A perfect set-up for a return to

Turnham Green

MyrtleStrumpet · 30/10/2024 11:27

A slippery twist takes me to Walthamstow.

Boredmum24 · 30/10/2024 12:18

A lateral shunt takes us to bounds green

BlackOrangeFrog · 30/10/2024 15:10

Oh bother... I think that puts me in Nidd.

MyrtleStrumpet · 30/10/2024 17:18

Yes, I rather think you are.

Let's see.

<hard thinking>

...

<more hard thinking>

...

Yes, I think if I take a hemispherical approach and take into account the additional hour when the clocks went back, I can go to Morden.

And I think that also gets you out of Nidd. But can someone else check my sewing to be sure?

LlynTegid · 30/10/2024 17:54

The incomplete station name rule means we are back at Turnham Green. A rule first played I understand at the 1927 tournament when someone forgot that there were at the time at least two Ealings.

Remembering not to fall into that trap, a move to Ealing Common.

BlackOrangeFrog · 30/10/2024 18:34

Unsure of Nidd State... Hesitant move to Northolt

AgathaMystery · 30/10/2024 20:23

In an attempt to score a Huffington I will chance a move off the central line to Wimbledon

TragicMuse · 31/10/2024 07:48

Good morning! The comrades at the Steppes are in agreement and ready. And that is all I can say about my recent absence and it's probably too much.

I see we've had some noble play...how exciting! The last time I was involved in a match with a crowned head there were heady scenes in the ballroom, chandeliers and all. The maids were not happy.

Ho hum.

Gloucester Road

MarkWithaC · 31/10/2024 11:28

What ho, everyone! Frog, you're definitely clear of Nidd now after the last few moves created that Mitcham's sequence.

Marble Arch for me, calling in my Aitkinson's Allowance.
