Although of course MC is a game for all seasons, I do have especially fond memories of an October championships in Wales and extracurricular… fun amid the greenery of a National Trust garden.

If I've missed anyone I do apologise; do round up any players you happen to see or hear of.

And I'll start with a lovely little move that the Reverend taught me.
Finsbury Park

Oh yes! What an exciting move!
Staying north, it means I can transition to Arsenal.

HazelBite · 17/11/2024 13:27

Oh we are getting territorial here, if you are straying into football territory I'm going to Seven Sisters and instigating the Bus Link rule to "White Hart Lane"!

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 17/11/2024 15:05

Time for a mellow Sunday move, so I'm playing a semi-Pilkington to

Stepney Green

Boredmum24 · 17/11/2024 17:10

A Harrison transverse to Southgate

MyrtleStrumpet · 17/11/2024 20:09

Westminster!

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 17/11/2024 20:21

MyrtleStrumpet! My friend! I didn't think I could do it, but you've just set me up perfectly for a final demi-slide to

Mornington Crescent!

MyrtleStrumpet · 17/11/2024 20:34

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

How did I not remember the demi-slide?!

Well played, Gertrude. Well played!

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 17/11/2024 21:04

Thank you, MyrtleStrumpet. I quite literally couldn't have done it without you.

MyrtleStrumpet · 17/11/2024 21:47

Chapeau!

Seaside1234 · 17/11/2024 22:27

Amazing! Stunner of a finishing move there, well deserved victory 👏

AgathaMystery · 17/11/2024 22:44

I say.

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 18/11/2024 15:46

You're all too kind.

Boredmum24 · 18/11/2024 15:51

Well played!

MarkWithaC · 18/11/2024 17:14

Oh, well played, Gertrude! I would never have thought to use that move without having engaged the DLR, but I see how (hindsight is wonderful, isn't it?) that it's not only possible but perfectly elegant.

Stunning play! Well done @GertrudeJekyllAndHyde

LlynTegid · 19/11/2024 18:51

@GertrudeJekyllAndHyde will you start the new game?

DuckonaBike · 19/11/2024 19:30

Congratulations Gertrude, what a game! Do start the next one …

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 19/11/2024 19:59

Thank you. I'm feeling a little enervated after those demanding final moves but let us recall that - in the words of the old song - life begins at

Oxford Circus

MyrtleStrumpet · 19/11/2024 20:40

OMG! You started a new game on the same thread...

<faints>

<recovers enough to make an amateurish basic move, because that's all I can manage>

Piccadilly

HazelBite · 19/11/2024 22:25

I think I'm okay to go with Lancaster Gate at this early juncture in the game?

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 19/11/2024 23:00

Indeed, MyrtleStrumpet. Having grown up during the war, when even internet space was rationed, I am always keen to be thrifty and would hate to waste the remainder of this gorgeous thread. Besides, regulars know they can find us here. The Major sent me a telegram to say he had been detained by urgent business in Tangiers, but his return (he assured me) is imminent.

Battersea Power Station

MyrtleStrumpet · 20/11/2024 13:06

I must admit to being new to the game on this platform and I admire your thrift! On other software a new game always means a new thread.

Interesting that the Major is in Tangiers as I was informed only this morning that the Duchess is headed there too.

West Finchley.

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 20/11/2024 14:20

Such a coincidence, the Major and the Duchess being in Tangiers at the same time. According to dear Millicent, the Duke is at his Scottish castle for the next month, overseeing repairs to his battlements, so I imagine the Duchess is looking for a little distraction.

Harold Wood

MarkWithaC · 20/11/2024 16:36

An energetic start to the new game.
Gertrude, far be it from me to gossip, but on at least one past occasion 'going to Tangier' has turned out to be the Duchess's code for something quite other.

Any road up:
a Gonzales Ploy to Goldhawk Road
Start as you mean to go on, I say.

Well, quite.
