67 year old lady here, not in good health but lost three stones recently on high dose steriods so you can imagine I worked very hard to get weight off, continuous steriods 17 years due to two autoimmune illnesses non smoker non drinker, so I decided to try Pilates never done a fitness class in my life, but was told how good Pilates would be to strengthen core, I loved it loved everything about it, I have a spinal condition which to be fair I’m doing ok , but haven’t got much balance hence being told Pilates would improve balance, when I say I’m doing ok I mean basically I can walk 3 miles day do gentle exercise, sorry it’s long post I get home feeling wonderful from Pilates class but…. 30 mins later floored feeling nausea so dizzy and have to take to my bed for hours, yet my body aches but so far nice workout ache which I can handle well so far lol what I would like to know is is this normal to feel like this, neck area ears, should I give up on Pilates is it not for me, I’m so disappointed.

I know someone who had labyrinthitis/vertigo symptoms while doing Pilates, so probably worth getting your GP to check it out.

That's really disappointing OP.

Good for you though for losing all that weight and for being able to walk 3 miles.

Walking is really good for maintaining balance as I'm sure are other exercises besides Pilates.

As a PP has said, you should get checked out by your GP.

Pilates can't be right for you at this time if you have to suffer through vertigo, nausea, and staying in bed for hours!

That certainly would take the pleasure out of it for most people.
I'd be wanting to find out why I had such a negative reaction to doing Pilates.
