Tha physics doesn't add up ( I have a physics degree). They seem to argue that we get positively charged because of modern living and need a flow of electrons from earth/ground to balance this.

It is possible to get a build up of static charge on the body but it discharged easily on touching a large metal object and you feel a prickle which is a slight electric shock. So if you had become positively charged, you could get a flow of electrons to neutralise it quite easily, however if the charge was at all significant, you'd feel it as an electric shock.
( I had a school friend whose younger brother discovered he could charge himself statically by shuffling in his slippers on the carpet. He'd then chase us to try and give us an electric shock by touching us!)

I think you could ground yourself just as easily by getting a long length of uncoated garden wire and wrapping one end around your big toe and the other on an unpainted bit of radiator or water pipe! Failing that you could just hug a radiator for a while each day.

Woollen fabric is the best for giving up electrons when rubbed so you could also wear socks/tights with a fair bit of nylon or acrylic on them and rub you feet against a wooden carpet. This would mean you become negatively charged with electrons!

Absolute bollocks. Science teacher speaking.
