Freestanding TV unit + toddlers

Sorry for what may seem a silly thread. Our tv is currently wall mounted

Trying to gain more storage so thought about taking it down and putting it on a unit, but we have a nearly 3 year old who’s hyper like most toddlers are haha! I’d obviously fix the unit to the wall etc but just wondered is it a no go should I leave it?

aka am I just asking for destruction

I'd stick with it being wall mounted. I've got an energetic two year old and I know without a shadow of a doubt that having TV freestanding woul just be like asking him to destroy it 😅

I bought wire straps from Currys which connect to the back of the TV and screwed them into the back of my freestanding TV unit. It was well worth the cost for the piece of mind knowing my daughter can't pull the TV down on herself.
